Gareth gave a quick glance towards Lyonel.
"Your Grace." he said graciously to the Queen. "It is indeed a honor to have you here at our humble manse. I am sure my brother will be at your service. For anything you may so desire."

Rose smiled at them both, and said, "Pleased to met you."

Lyonel, somewhat awed by meeting the Queen, remained tongue-tied, but Gareth having mixed with the very highborn since childhood had no such qualms. He quickly settled into small-talk with the various guests, including the young Queen. As he drank and ate, Gareth kept glancing at his elder brother with a knowing smile.

The second course was a fine salmon dressed in a delicate lemon sauce accompanied by green beans. Gwayne, solicitous of his queen's wellbeing, especially as he knew she had been unwell, asked "Is the food to your liking, Your Grace? I don't want my honoured guest to go hungry."
Izzy turned to the other men. "Mace, did you know that both Gareth and Leyton served in the war on the Stepstones? Gwayne tells me they both fought admirably. Gareth commanded a force of our men from the Far Reach, and Leyton squired for Lord Lannister until recently."

Rose replied, and blushed slightly, "It is lovely."
Mace nodded, "I did in fact know that." He smiled at Izzy.

"Oh, I'm pleased," she said. "I am proud of the men of my house. They are all skilled and courageous warriors."
Gwayne was troubled that the meal was not going as well as he'd hoped; he wanted to make a good impression upon the Queen, and thus upon the Tyrells as well. "Good. The next dishes are capon and beef, with vegetables. And then there's to be fruit and sweets after. May I invite Your Grace to ride with me tomorrow?"

"I believe I am suppose to dine with Lord Royce tomorrow." Rose replied to Gwayne.

Gwayne clenched his fist to stop himself from making a verbal or facial gesture of frustration.
"Well, perhaps you might ride with me beforehand?" He suggested. "A good gallop is a sure way to work up an appetite."

Rose replied, "I think it would be bad form to agree... if I am not feeling well still." She frowned slightly.

"That is unfortunate. I want to spend more time with you, Your Grace. If not tomorrow, when?" He asked.

"I thought we would have some time at your Tournemant." Rose replied.

"Well, yes, so did I. But we are still in the capital and this business with the North may be problematic. I do not wish to cancel the tourney, but if the High Septon puts pressure on the lords of the realm to attack the North, well, duty demands I send Hightower men even if I cannot go myself. But if Your Grace were to make it clear that she wished to attend my tourney before the kingdom is torn apart by war in the North, well, no man could refuse his queen's wish." He smiled at her.

Macce leaned forward and said, "The High Septon does not command the armies of the Land, that is her Majesties responsibility."

"Yes, I know that. But you know how it is. But I had thought he might put pressure upon Her Grace and the Lords Paramount to make a move sooner rather than later," said Gwayne. "But if that is not a risk, it makes no matter. I shall be guided by my queen in this matter. So if Her Grace is definitely coming to the tourney, there is no doubt for me. My duties to the Faith must come second to my duties to the queen."

Mace added, "As should every one. We are summoning Lord Stark south to speak on this matter."
