Finn smiled, "Something you learned in embroidery?" Finn asked, "I'm afraid I've no eye for fashion, my family's colors are black and white."

"Sure," she said, looking at her feet with a small smile. "You never told me what happened to your family after.. they destroyed your home."

"My grandfather and father were executed for their treasons. My oldest brother is now spending what remains of the family fortune on whores. I'm not sure what my other brother is doing." Finn said bluntly.

"So you don't have anywhere to go. Can you be honest with me for a second?" she asked, looking at him. It was a lot to ask, sure, especially at a place like this, but she couldn't help but to wonder. "In a way, the Hightowers gave you a new home and raised you like everyone else here. Are you grateful.. or does it make you mad?"

Finn watched Danyella's eyes cautiously, "Is it as simple as one or the other?" he asked.

"It hardly ever is. In this case.. it might," she said, not breaking the eye contact. "For me, it's the inability to do anything that makes it either black or white. The colours of your house, but I suppose you've no eye for fashion," she added with a smirk.

"No eye for fashion," Finn agreed, "Who else would cover up their black leathers in a cloak of white," He said meaningfully.

Dany bit her lip and stood there silently, trying to make sure she wasn't hearing certain things just because she wanted to. "I thought I was the only one," she said quietly.

"I know you aren't the only one," Finn said, "Although I wonder about dressing everyone in crimson. It's an expensive dye. Perhaps it ought to be saved for Lords and Ladies?"

"You read my mind," Dany said, smirking a little now that she could somewhat speak her mind after all those years. "I imagine one in particular should be the honorary guest to that sort of party. But I guess in his absence, he could just feel happy about all the others who attend."

"This has certainly been the place for balls and parties," Finn agreed, "But I'm from a poor house, and, If you'll forgive me saying so, Your family does not entertain the way they used to. If we were to be buying gifts for all those who truly deserve them, we shall need to save up. So it can be as memorable as possible."

"Hmmh." It was true, even though Highgarden was still a wealthy estate, she'd hardly ever heard from her uncle. "How do you save up from virtually nothing?"

"Well unfortunately for that we shall have to borrow from these friends of ours, even if it is distasteful to us. Since we are in need, we must be as helpful and as friendly to them as possible as a result. But we will pay them back a thousand times over." Finn said.

"I like that. They deserve no less," Dany said, grinning. Suddenly, she remembered her ealier talk with the maester and she sighed. "It all sounds good when we talk about it, but there might be a time limit to it. I don't want to marry one of them."

Finn raised his eyebrow and then leaned out over the railing, "Why do you say that?" he asked, "I can't think of a whiter cloak than the one worn by a bride."
