Caron nodded, "As should he fear mine." He stared at Harlan, "Anymore words to waste my time?"

Elinor spotted her husband and breezed over towards him a coy smile on her face.

Ser Harlan thought that Lord Caron was a most disagreeable man. He wasn't sure why the man seemed set on a quarrel. Harlan was only a knight to be sure and far below in rank, but he was the envoy of his uncle, head of one the oldest houses in the Stormlands.
"No my lord. I will not waste your valuable time further. I hope my uncle has more of a welcome here at Nightsong. I will report your words to him."
He gave a short bow to Caron and the new arrival, who he identified as the Lady Elinor, given her resemblance to lord uncle's wife, the Lady Perra, who was her sister.

Elinor smiled at the man before he moved off. 'How is my sister and your Lord?' She asked him

"Both are well my lady." replied the young knight. "Lord Edwyn is here with his sons Lyonel and Jon. They are outside the castle with their men. I believe my eldest cousin Ser Eldon is on the way here as well. Your sister Lady Perra and her other children remain at Grandview. My lord uncle felt this occasion warranted only the presence of the menfolk."

"I believe so." replied Harlan. "Unfortunately it appears your lord husband does not seem to be very welcoming."

Harlan nodded and smiled weakly at Lady Elinor, although he was not convinced.
Lord Caron wouldn't want to try that shit on Lord Edwyn he thought grimly. Their House words "Rouse Me Not" were very appropriate. His uncle had a short and fearsome temper if provoked. Perhaps in that case he'd better not mention that Lord Caron had threatened to cut Lord Edwyn's cock off.

"he is a grouchy man at the prospect of war."

Harlan raised an eyebrow.
"Oh? Lord Edwyn revels in it, especially against the old enemy. The Grandisons are an old marcher house and we have fought the Dornish for centuries."

"oh he enjoys it. But it's the lead up, he prefers to deal with the lords."

"Lord Edwyn would have been here himself, but we received a message that he was to come to the keep 'alone'." Harlan replied. "I'm here to clarify what 'alone' means."
