"Well I could be if I was an Umber, I suppose," Hallis responded with a grin. He flagged down a passing servant and asked for an ale. "Desert you say. I can't imagine." "Think of some sand... and then some more... and then times it by a million and you might have a small portion of a desert." he explained, still grinning and glancing at the servant as Dustin was brought his ale, "Though I think the same about things like snow... does it not get cold up there?"

Jast replied, "There is nothing for her to tell me. We were just speaking of marriage."

Summer sniffed. "I see. She's very lucky to have such an esteemed suitor."

Hallis smiled. "It does at times. Even in summer." He followed Marq's gaze. "There's a thing about the cold, can make the warmth of a woman even more pleasant."

"I'm sure that it can..." He said, raising his eyes at Hallis. "The inside of your houses are as cold as the out then?" She asked before waving the comment away. "In the desert it freezes at night, so we know one or two things about the cold also."

Ellyn chuckled "For money & politics. A poor honorable house is still a poor house. I was the third daughter so there was little risk of any of my sons or daughters vying for my father's seat on Dragonstone" she shrugged. "It was a good a match as any. It was either him or old Lord Bar Emmon and I'd rather a husband nearer my age than one nearly double with bad breath to boot" She looked across at Ser Patrek. "And you, Ser Patrek? Have you not remarried? I'd imagine the heir to the Crossing being a fine catch for many noble ladies and their father's to seek out" "I have been," he said, pausing for the right word, "Occupied. Perhaps when my children are of an age to manage themselves, I will, though for now I seek only to better them. Though if I marry again, I should hope it not for money and politics," he smiled warmly.

"In the desert it freezes at night, so we know one or two things about the cold also." Hallis nodded. "It kind of depends on the House. Winterfell, for example, is famous for the hot spring water that's pumped through its walls. My home at Barrowton Castle has no such luxury though, so we must depend on stouter clothing and fire."

"Wouldn't know milord," She said with a smile, "Flints of Widow's Watch is from the coast, East of Ramsgate, South of the Dreadfort. I've never yet been to the mountain places my cousins call home, although they visit us often enough. I think despite what they say, they enjoy the hospitality and a feather bed from time to time."

Jast shrugged, "I had thought Widow's Watch in the mountains. I must admit to not being as good with Heraldry as some others here."

Summer curtsied, "It is of no matter milord, you have the right of it. You can take the Flint out of the mountains, but not the mountains of the Flint."

Jast nodded, "Perhaps, I know not much of the Mountains or Flints."

Summer smiled, "I fear its the two topics on which I am most well-versed." She grinned, "Have you met everyone Lady Helyn? Perhaps we should take a stroll around and continue our introductions?"
