The man with the ledger nodded, "I will admit to the fine quality of this wine." He scratched his chin for a moment, "Does your house produce only wines of this high order?"

"Some years are better than others, of course, owing to weather and the like. But if you have a bottle of Arbor wine anywhere, you will find the taste and quality about the same as what you have had here," Ser Mandon Stonecrab asserts. Ser Ryon adjusts a button on his sleeve again, listening but evidently content to let Mandon do the talking.

The man continued, "Wine of high quality costs a great deal to make, ship in the proper manner, and find the right clientele for such a product. The wines of lower quality are much easier to make, transport, and more venues available for sale."

"Does it? We make more wine than anyone in Westeros. We also make the best wine. It's not a state of affairs that causes us many problems." Mandon smiles genially. "We sell the Gold and the Red for less than the specialty types, and of course we make discounts for anyone who buys from us in bulk."
"Finding venues for sale is why the Arbor wishes to deal with Lord Julio. He is free to market it in any way he likes and sell it for any price he likes. If he cannot sell Arbor wine profitably, then perhaps we have overestimated his capabilities."

The man raised a signle dark eyebrow, "I do not dispute the high quality of the wine, but high quality generally lends itself to high prices. Is this not the case with your wares."

Ser Mandon names a price. "Given how much we make, we can set our prices to undercut our competition. I am sure you will find our price reasonable in light of the quality of the product."

The man leaned back in his chair, he stuided both the men, and then asked, "And have you made arrangements as to what you are going to purchase in Braavos to ship back to this... The Arbor."

"We're looking to sell," Ser Mandon says.

"Right... you sail here, and sell the wine. Then you sail home with empty holds? Is that your plan?" He seemed curious.

"Of course not. But we were led to believe that Lord Julio only imported goods. What does he sell?"

"My interests are varied. I entered into the business of wine, woman and dice for my primary venue of trade have always been men of war." Lord Julio replied, "I have no intention of shipping mercenaries to the Arbor though. Not yet."

Ser Mandon bows slightly in acknowledgement of the merchant lord revealing his identity. Ser Ryon seems to take stock of the four men for a second time with this new information, then goes back to adjusting the buttons on his sleeve.
"By the grace of the gods I hope the Arbor will not need mercenaries any time soon," Ser Mandon says. "What we do need is timber, something Braavos is not in a surplus of. But that is no matter, so long as we can buy goods here that we can trade for a profit in, perhaps, Westeros' Stormlands."

"As I said, I have no intention of shipping mercenaries to the Arbor." Julio raised fingers to his lips and let loose a single high pitched whistle. Six servants entered baring three chests between them. Julio motioned and his servants removed a dagger, a crossbow bolt, and a crossbow from the chests from the boxes. They held them out silently, "I sampled your wares, now you should sample mine."

Ser Mandon picks up the crossbow and sights down it, then gives an approving nod. Ser Ryon hefts the dagger, then tests its edge by cutting off the button on his right sleeve he has been fiddling with. Perhaps for symmetry's sake, he then cuts off a button on his left sleeve.
"This crossbow looks very good, and this steel looks very fine," Ser Mandon comments, "But men in Westeros typically prefer thicker, heavier blades. Do you make anything like that here?"

"Examine the blade closer." Julio said, "I believe you have heard of Valarion Steel. I have found an alchemist who has been able to duplicate the results. The process he uses does not allow for anything larger then a dagger blade, but every blade and every bolt in both those chests are the things of legends." For the first time emotioned showed on his face, a small controlled smile.
