The Open Wound

[Sam]

Rodrick begins to chop a bloody swathe through the men fighting around him, toward the stern of the ship where the two men are standing.

[The Smith]

Rodrick slowly moved his way toward where the men were standing, but two spearmen working in tandem stop his advance. And then an arrow fired from one of the few archers left score his face, making him fall back.

All around him men are dying. The ironborn have managed to close the gap, and the fight steadies for his side for a moment.

[Sam]

Rodrick bellows with fury and frustration, turning his attentions to the archer who'd shot him, and the spearmen who had blocked his path, moving to slaughter all three of them and an other Westerner nearby.

[The Smith]

Rodrick moves and strikes down the spearman on the left, while the one on the right whiffs with his attack. The archer disappears into the mass of men.

[Sam]

Rodrick once again attempts to move toward the stern, hoping to cut down the two men there who looked somewhat important.

[The Smith]

Rodrick moves about halfway there, before a man blocks his advance. He cuts the man down. The battle begins to turn back toward the Westerman, as they continue to work together.

After a moment he works toward the two guardsmen. The swords men swing, attacking in unison, but Rodrick is better then both of them together. He cuts one deep enough for him to drop his sword. The other man stumbles back.

The man who has been calling throws himself ford with a vicous countrattack though. And Rodrick slips in the blood on the steps. He falls back. The man wields an axe with a shield, and brings his axe down in a savage arc.

Rodrick kicks at him, and rolls back, the axe landing against his leg. It did not pierce his armor, but Rodrick heard the bone break. Using his other leg, he attempts to kick the Westerman down, but he dodges back.

Rodrick lies on the ground with his weapon, but unable to move to walk.
