Joanna arrived to check on her youngest daughter. She was still worried about Silvana's health. She had sent for the king's own maester to examine Silvana too.

The maester came, while Silvana was sitting quietly in the corner playing with two dolls.
"What seems to be the matter Princess?" The maester asked.
Runestone's own Maester followed along behind the King's Maester, with an expression which made clear he was at least mildly offended that he'd been passed over.

JOanna turned to smile anxiously at both men; she';d chosen Daemon's maester purely because she knew the Citadel alwyas went the monarch the best they had to offer.
"My daughter is grown nervous and her eye...look at her face. Soething is wrong. She keeps staring."

The King's maester nodded, "call the child over, let us have a look at her."

First Joanna checked that her other daughters were not around - she did not wish to distress them - then she called to her lastborn.
"Silvana, sweetling! Can you come here, please?"

The daughter stood, and approached the two men, curtsying properly.
"Hello," She told them in a soft voice.
Her left eye was looking off to the side, while the right eye was locked on to the two men.

"See," Joanna whispered. "Her eyes are not looking ni the same diretion."
She felt too guilty to admit that Silvana's odd behaviour frightened her.

The King's maester approached, and gently touched the girl on the side of the head humming to himself.
"The child has taken a recent blow to the head?" the man asked.

"Yes. A rock was thrown at her. It was fairly substantial."

"A rock... I see," the man examined the girl's head. Silvana stood still and straight as an arrow, waiting with impatient dignity. The maester covered the right eye.
"can you see me darling?"
"yes maester"
"I see..."
"It seems that the muscles which control the movement of the girl's eye are damage. Whether it will heal with time I can not say."

"With time?" Joanna repeated. "With time? Is that the only hope you can offer? You were trained at the Citadel. You must be able to do something!"

"There is nothing that can be done. There is much that is still not understood about the eye and how it functions. It is a blessing from the seven that she has any sight at all I think." the maester says.

"Alright. Can we restrict the eye's movement?" Joannaasked. "I don't want people to think my daughter is a simpleton when she's clearly not."

The maester looks at the Princess with something akin to horror,
"Your... grace... the child's eye is damage. It will not move. I suppose it might be possible for us to manipulate it, so that it at least stares straight ahead, instead off off to the side like that.... but... I do not recommend it."
