Runestone: Maeakar and Anni's chambers

[The Smith]

Milo shrugged, "I have eyes every where, and I prefer to blackmail my agents. They work much harder that way." He winked, "Now on to other matters, the King wants me to find who tried to kill Joanna."

[Fel]

"I don't know how I can help with this. I do not have any network outside of the king's city, and haven't been able to look into the matter at all. Have you ascertained it was an attack on Joanna and not on Lord Royce, then?"

[The Smith]

Milo laughed, and shook his head, "Not but I think the almost death of Joanna, upset the king more then the death of his brother in law." He smiled crookedly, "Your brother thinks rather highly of his blood kin."

[Fel]

"Some of his kin, in any regard," Maekar said stiffly.

[The Smith]

"Oh he would be enraged if anything happened to you." Milo replied, "He thinks every drop of Targaryen blood is sacred."

[Fel]

Maekar made a shrug of his shoulders, as if he did not think his brother was far wrong there. "In any case, how can I help you with this investigation, Lord Bettley?"

[The Smith]

Milo spoke, "I have few connections in the Vale hinterlands. I was hoping you could help me. But if you are unable I will ask Lord Grafton."

[Fel]

"I will see what I can turn up. I have a man who is currently trying to become friendly with one of the clans. The clansmen are the hidden eyes and ears of the mountains, but they are usually very hostile to Andals. Perhaps they will know something about it."

[The Smith]

Milo nodded, "Well I doubt they could recognize sigils, and the men supposedly did not even wear those. Yet if they provide any information please pass it along."

[Fel]

"Very well," he said, and nodded.

[The Smith]

Milo offered, "Do you have any questions for me before I leave."

[Fel]

"How long will you be leaving the maester and his assistant in my keep?"

[The Smith]

"You can expel them at any time. They are what I said they were." Milo replied, "Just there to heal Rhaenys."

[Fel]

Maekar's eyes shifted in disbelief.

"If that is everything, Lord Bettley? I should be returning to my work."

[The Smith]

Milo stood, "It has been a pleasure." He turned and glided from the room.
