"What of them?" She asked. "They're not all bad, you know. Most of them are good women."

Jon shook his head, "there we disagree. It's nothing but flirtations, drinking, and carousing. I guess that's what you expect from a King's court, but I don't think it's suitable for a woman with children."

"What of the Queen?" She said with a slight edge to her voice. "Wold you expect the king's own wife to shun the Court?"

"That's a stupid thing to say, of course not. But then, apparently Queen Morgan can refrain from undressing publicly," Jon growled and went silent.

"I've told you why I did it and also that I wish I hadn't, now," she asid, beginning to grow frustrated. "Why must you rub it in my face? Everyone makes mistakes."

"I'm not a septon Joanna that you can expect a confession and an apology will immediately make everything okay. I'm a man, and I've a right to be angry for awhile. i accept your apology, but I'm still angry."

She looked right at him.
"I would not be angry if it were you. What is the difference?"

"Oh really, shall I go and play some naked betting games with Lady Grafton or some such, so you can show how superior and in control of your feelings you are?" Jon said.

Joanna sighed; this was a side of her husband she had not seen before and she didn't know how to deal with him.
"If it makes you feel better, go ahead. I know that whatever transpired between you woudl be irrelevant because you love me. I will love you regardless, the same as I have for all these years."
She paused and looked him square in the eye.
"Would it make you feel better?"

"No, it wouldn't. What would make me feel better is having my wife at home, spending time with her daughters, and not scheming for dragons," Jon said with a frown, "can you do that?"

"I could," she said. "But it will disappoint a number of people who were counting on me."

"I will stay," she said. "Because I love you, and I hate to see you so unhappy with me. Please, Jon, don't sit there so quietly. It unnerves me."
She blinked.
"My place at Court is important to me but your place in my heart is unique."
She paused and blinked again.
"I don't think I can bear it if you are angry with me."

Jon gestured with both his arms for Joanna to come over and get hugged.

She went to him at once and rested her head against his chest the moment she was in his arms. For a moment she was content simply to sit there then she said "This feels good. I missed you. The girls missed you too. We should do something special with them, as a family. Maybe visit Mother in the Eyrie."
