Slowly the walked back toward the chambers. After awhile the Septa spoke quietly, "I hear footsteps behind us."

"Keep walking, but don't rush. I will look behind."
He urged her on and then slowed his pace until he had stopped and then he turned around.

He could hear nothing, and only see the pitch black of the crypts.

"Alright. I'll come up," Benjen said.
He advanced slowly towards the septa and the exit but kept his wits about him in case of danger. He thought perhaps the septa had imagined it but wasn't taking any chances.

As he hurried toward the exit he can swear he hears footsteps himself, but when he stops there is nothing.

Shruggging it off, Benjen continued moving. He knew there was nothing to do but leave the crypt. If someone was there and a threat to them, they'd have to come out eventually.

He left the crypt, and hurried back to the main hall. It was now empty except the wounded.

Benjen turned to the group of least wounded people.
"Where is the septa who was organising things?"

"She is on the walls." a septa said as she treated a wounded man.

"Alright. Did she say what she wanted me to do?"

"No.. she did not." The Septa replied.

"Then we'll go out to the courtyard."
Benjen beckoned to the young septa to follow him with the blade she carried.
"Hopefully the others have brought the spears and bows," he said.
As they walked outside he looked for the elderly septa.

He saw most of the hale people standing stop the walls. Some armed with spears, and some armed with unstrung bows.

Beckoning to his companion, Benjen ran towards the walls. He climbed the rampart steps and then looked for the old septa.

At the top of the wall stood the old septa and Adrian the blacksmith. In front of the wall were twenty mounted men carrying weapons and torches.
One man had ridden closer to the wall, and Benjen heard him yell up, "come out, and then we will put the rest to the sword."
