The old Septa nodded, "There is still an armory down below." She pointed at Benjen, "You take that group over there, and take them down to gather as many weapons as possible." She pointed at Adrian, "You take command of the villagers, and sent those capable of fighting to the walls."

Benjen turned at once to Leilanna "Do whatever she tells you."
He started for his group of men.
"Come with me. We need to gather weapons. Who knows the way to the armoury?"

A septa raised her hand, and began to walk swiftly ahead of Benjen. "The basement storage rooms."

"Good."
He wondered why the septas were so much more capable than their male counterparts.
"What kind of weapons are we like to find?"

The pretty septa spoke as she walked quickly, "Bows, and spears. They are old, from before the keep was a septry."

Benjen nodded grimly.
"They'll have to do. What about the crypt? Do the old kings and lords still have swords in their hands like the legends say? Even ancient rusting blades would be better than no swords."

The young septa stumbled, but then nodded slowly, "I think so... we do not go down there much."

"Why not? Because the Starks followed the Old Gods?"

"They are crypts... and stink of death." She replied nervously.

"Dead men and the stench of death can harm no-one," Benjen said with confidence. I'll gladly prove that to you if you will let me. Besides, my mother is a Reed of Greywater Watch and they hold to the old gods. The old ways do not frighten me."

She shiver but followed along, "It is not their ways we fear, but that awful feeling." They had reached the basement storeroom, and it was full of spears, and bows. But the bow strings had fallen into disrepair.

"Twine," said Benjen. "We need something strong and supple to string the bows with, either that or we use them simply as staves. It would be good to have longbows, though, so we can strike the enemy down as they arrive. Who here would have twine?"

"We might have some twine in the storerooms upstairs." The Septa pointed back the way they had coming.

"Have someone fetch it on the way out," Benjen instructed. "Those with us will carry these weapons out to the courtyard. You and I will check the swords in the crypt."

She gave the orders easily, and then nodded to him. "I am ready."
