"I'll do my best, but I thought you wanted to leave when I did?"

"It would be nice to, but I think I have to wait for word from the Prince. Besides, it seems like a bad time to be travelling around the Vale with the savages roaming in packs."

"True enough, but you are not a prisoner to be kept here if you wou rather leave. I've twenty men at arms so you would be welcome to travel with me if you wish."

"That is kind of you to offer, but I think I would only be putting you into danger should we travel together. You should probably stay as well, until the Clans have been subdued or at least until it's more quiet. People have been talking about how Redfort was ravaged."

"Oh. Poor Lord Redfort," Joanna sighed. "I hope he has survived. I liked him. Perhaps you are right, Arya, but you are the only reason I have to stay now that I am not permitted to visit my own mother, an d you love Court life as well as I do. Oh, I love the Eyrie too, but it's not as it was when I was a girl."

"Well have fun then, for me as well. Becca and the Queen will find new ladies should we be gone too long."

Joanna laughed and hugged Arya.
"I know that grieves you but you can be one of my own ladies if Morgan won't have you. I'm as good as she is, I hope?"

"That would be kind of you," Arya nodded. "The Queen has been a great fixture in my life but you are quickly becoming to that point, since we have not been as together as long as I have been with the Queen."

"That's true. I will welcome your company if you wish to remain with me, but, if your heart lies with Morgan I will do all I can to ensure that you do not lose your place. Why should you? This is not your fault, Arya."
Joanna smiled warmly.
"Don't ever let anyone trick you into believing you are at fault. You don't deserve what's happened to you. I'm sure Morgan will appreciate that as I do. If she does not, well then, she doesn't deserve you."

"Oh and when you leave, be sure to keep it secret that I am here. I doubt any ruffian street gang could make it up here, but it's better to be on the safe side. And it is not a matter of my heart resting with any one person." She smiled.

"Good." She looked thoughtful for a moment, "I don't think you ever told me why you rode through the streets of King's Landing."

Joanna frowned.
"Does it really matter now?

"Everyone knows but me. If you wanted to know something I'd tell you." She made a pout.

A mischievous light glowed in Joanna's eyes.
"Then tell me one of your secrets and I will tell you mine."
