"And this Melissa was assigned to Princess Joanna. And she slept with the rest of the maid servants in the servants quarters?"

"That is correct, except in such cases where she was designated to be the Princess's lady for midnight emergencies and the like, which should have happened several times given the standard scheduling of such things," Fimbleton said.

"Did the Princess complain about Melissa, or had anyone ever give word of dissatisfaction to her service?" Arya felt saddened and did not want to come to any hasty conclusion.

"There is no indication of that being the case, certainly not complaint was filed with me, I'd have made note of it, and the girl would have been fired."

"I see. Would you allow me to talk to some of the girls that she worked with? And the other girls that served the Princess?"

Fimbleton raised his eyebrow, "I don't think that would be very wise, it would be a distraction from their work."

"I'm sure they're distracted already. And they may know something that can help." She looked at him keenly.

"Help what?" Fimbleton asked.

"Sort things out. To find out why she tried to do what she did." She sighed and planted her hands on her hips delicately.

"And I'm sure they'll answer to what they know when his grace gets here," Fimbleton replied rubbing his two fingers together to get rid of excess ink which was dripping from his quill.

"If they know anything they need to be questioned now, the last girl that knew something fell down some stairs. And memories fade in time."

"Well I can't disagree with you young lady, and surely if Prince Maekar has someone to conduct an investigation, obviously we'd give him every courtesy and cooperation," Fimbleton says.

"I will help with it." Arya insisted. "IT won't take that much time out of the girl's schedule."

"Well, I'm sure you'd be such a darling help dear, but I think we ought to let the authorities handle it don't you?" Fimbleton replies.

"But you admit that it may be too late. I prefer to solve things before they are too far gone. It is my life which is in danger, the authorities have failed me already several times. IF it is too much to trouble you, how about assigning each of the girls that were with Melissa to to clean my room, so I may question them while they do so. That way they perform their duty and it does not interfere with the scheduling."
