Four men enter the hall. The first is a massive man, some seven feet tall, wearing bits and pieces of plate armor, his large battle axe laying on his shoulder. According to the list complied by the steward, he was Uther Snow.
The second to enter was a bald headed Summer Islander, the top of his head covered in tattoos, rippling chest muscles were barely concealed beneath an open leather jerkin. The list said his name was Ashurgi.
The third to enter was a wiry little stick of a man, tall but very thin, wearing boiled leather, his hands rested on the hilts of two daggers on his hips. Girard, according to the list.
The fourth was a young woman, quite attractive, even by Maekar's rather high standards. Her hair was dyed black and red, in a Lorathi fashion, and a sleek small sword was tucked into a shiny leather belt. She bent down to tie high boots that went all the way to her knee, and smiled at Maekar as she did so. Her name was Eve, according to the steward.

"Welcome," Maekar said to them, and he gestured to the four seats which had been placed in a semi-circle in front of his desk. Behind him, Tonio of Lorath leaned against a windowsill and watched the bounty hunters.
"As you have undoubtedly heard, my office has posted a number of bounties recently in order to combat a growing banditry problem across the kingdoms. You have been summoned here because you have proved yourselves to be capable at dealing with such problems. I would like to coordinate with you, in order to most effectively deal with these wanted men."

"We ain't exactly in a profession that's keen on cooperation," Girard says, pulling his dagger, and beginning to pick his teeth with the very sharp point.

"Regardless, I'd like to know more about you four, learn where your strengths lie and see where it would be benefit me to have your assistance," he said.
He turned to the large man first. "Uther Snow," he said, reading from a parchment on his desk, "give me your story."

"What story?" Uther replied, managing to look fierce, and bored at the same time.

"I do not know if that is slow-wittedness or a purposeful attempt to vex me, but I have time for neither. You may leave," he said coldly.
He turned to the Summer Islander next, "and you? Tell me of yourself."

Uther grunted, and departed without another word.
"I am from the Summer Islands, where I am known as a fierce warrior in my homeland. Unfortunately, I killed a man in a dispute over a woman, and now i am here. I am an expert hunter, and the best with a bow. No prey escapes me."

Maekar nodded, and looked at Girard to go next.

"Takes a thief to catch a thief," Girard said simply, "Found I earn more money on this side of the law, with much less the hassle."

Maekar looked at Eve. "And finally the lady, forgive the lack of chivalry in hearing you last," he said, though he managed to do it without a hint of charm.

The woman smiled, "These men," she gestured, "Couldn't find their bungholes with two hands and a lit lantern. The trick is making the prey come to you."

"And how have you achieved this in the past?"

"You have to make them feel safe, comfortable, lure them out of their little holes," she replied. "It can be done."
