He is shown in, Prince Maekar stands at the window looking out over the courtyard. He turns to see the bandaged knight.
"It seems you have a good reason for failing to meet my man after all, Ser Maryn."

"Indeed. I offer my apologies. But I owed a friend my service before I could venture with your man. And it seems that a simple journey to find a healing man in Flea Bottom turned into an assassination attempt on Lady Aryanna." Maryn's usual jovial tone was grim.

"An assassination attempt was made on the life of Lady Aryanna Dayne in Flea Bottom?" Maekar asked, his eyes widening and jaw tensing.
"Tell me what happened from the beginning," he said in a tone that suggested he wanted to hear nothing else from Ser Maryn at the moment, and pointing to a seat for him to sit in.

Maryn sat, "The Lady asked me to accompany her to this healer's place, that she had been given directions to by Lady Aerie's chambermaid. She told me that the maid had come to Aryanna one night when Aerie was having a fit, and I assume m'lady Aryanna came to trust this girl. And when the chambermaid related a story of how her grandfather had a similar condition to Aerie, and a healing man was able to cure him of it, Lady Aryanna sought out the man in question. We arrived in Flea Bottom and to the location the maid had given her. We entered the small house, there was a book and lamp on the table ahead and suddenly a man emerged and fired a crossbow at my lady, whilst I myself was herangued by multiple men. I was able to overcome my adversaries, and my lady fought like a fierce lioness. Thankfully we also recieved aid from Ser Aiden Sand at the height of the battle."

While Maryn was speaking Maekar stood and walked over to the door. He ordered two guards to go immediately to the Lady Aerie Thatcher's room and bring back any and all of her chambermaids.
"What was Ser Aiden doing in Flea Bottom at the time?" he asked as he walked back to his seat.

"He and the Lady had conversed and they parted on a bad note, he saw us and said he wanted to apologise to Lady Aryanna. He lost us for a while through the web of streets but eventually found us by the sound of battle. He hurried back to the Red Keep after bringing us to Ser Euric's manse."

After a short while, the guards return.
"Sorry your grace, but all the chambermaids are at the sept. We're told they are mourning.. some kind of accident among one of them. Fell down some steps, broke her neck," says the lead guard.

Maekar waved the guard away.
He looked at Ser Maryn. "Why would someone want to kill Lady Aryanna? Tell me who she has been spending time with recently. Anyone new?"

Maryn was grim faced and frowned at the news the guard brought. The list is slim my prince, and I very much doubt you'd want to hear of it."

"Tell me it, Ser Maryn," Maekar said, his eyes boring into the knight's.

Maryn held out but soon acquiesced. "The King, Ser Aerion, The Queen, Princess Joanna, and Lady Aerie." He said simply.

Maekar sat silently for a moment.
"Is there anything else you would like to add about any of those relationships, Ser Maryn?"

Maryn could feel the silence as he sat. "Lady Aerie has been bedridden and cannot say but a few words unless through some sort of fit. So it is unlikely she masterminded such a hideous plot." He striked his finger against his palm. "The Princess Joanna and Aryanna are amiable friends, and have kindled a bond between them." He struck his palm again. "Ser Aerion and the Lady have some sort of teacher student relationship, he teaching her the odd thing about keeping an eye out and she giving him whatever she finds in court, though she hasn't met with him that often, and only saw him recently in the garden when the chamber maid approached them both." He didn't strike his finger this time, "The Queen, they are good friends and spend time together often of course." He didn't strike his finger against his palm. "And the King and Aryanna are friends as well, he having wished her well for her 16th nameday recently." Again, he didn't strike his finger, and if Maekar was following, Maryn insinuated that the last three were the ones that had the potential to do what happened to Arya.

Maekar nodded.
"Thank you, Ser Maryn. If you can think of anything further, come to me at once," he said. He stood and walked back over to the window, looking out at the darkening sky.

"I think the lady will be too frightened for a while to come to the Red Keep." He said while standing. "So if you want to hear from her, you may have to travel to Ser Euric's. Good day," Maryn said glumly.
