"No you don't have to, I want to help myself to some wine and cakes. There are more questions I'd like to ask the Septa but they would be much too personal I think."

Aalina's expression hardened a little.
"Escuse me Lady Aryanna, Princess." She disappeared into the crowd.

Joanna looked at Arya.
"oh deaar, Aalina doesn't look too happy. She doesn;'t like questions about her past."

"Hmph, well I wasn't going to ask about her past, though I don't like it when people try to be mysterious. I'm not going to hurt them, I just want to be their friend." She put a small piece of a tart in her mouth that had a cherry on top of it.

Aryanna waved the girl to herself and the Princess, "Who were you sent by?" She smiled warmly at the girl.

She put a small piece of a tart in her mouth that had a cherry on top of it. "That is good but Aalina's past is particularly tragic," Joanna said. "She might have been so much more than a septa if only things had been different. I am grateful for her, of course, but I do wonder how her life might have turned out."

"Can she not seek to be pardoned by the faith if she was forced into it? Surely with your sway you can help her. It does not seem fair to be forced, much like being forced into a marriage."

"M'lord Rhaegar," she said, blushing and adverting her eyes. She was clearly not comfortable in company with such ladies. "I mean, M'lord Targaryen, my Lady." She was an attractive girl, if humbly dressed. Her teeth were large and her nose wide, though the freckles made something about her welcoming.
She hung her head and extended the package.

"I don't know," Joanna sighed. "I would like to help her but I doubt Aalina would even let me if i suggested it. It would be like charity and besides, the Faith appreciates every servant it gets. I don;'t think they would let her go so easily."

It is a shame she has been forced into it, and that she cannot love as we can."

You are most generous," she said, taking a hesitant step toward the food. She stopped a moment and turned back. Curtsying, she rushingly added, "And I will tell Rhae-- milord of your regards." The package Arya held was small and fairly light. It was plainly wrapped in brown paper and was addressed to her.

Arya nodded and smiled, "Thank you and farewell." She set the packadge down on the table, next to Joanna's gift and opened it carefully.

Joanna nodded.
"My thoughts precisely. I regret it but who would dare to argue with Uncle Talyn? He could be quite frightening when he was angry and Aalina was only little when it happened."
