"Arys I get a few letters from every year; he is quite recluse. Lavinya has been staying here at the manse, though she has returned to Dorne now."

Rhaegar frowned. "I did not see her before she left, then," he frowned. "I suppose you've seen Beric? The Sword of the Morning now," Rhaegar laughed. "I can still remember him making mud pies in the yard."

Aryanna and Maryn arrive at Euric's manse, looking like they just came from a trip through a butcher's shop. Ary's face and dress were smeared with smudgy blood. Her hair was caked dark red and her left eye was swollen shut. After some time to cool down, Maryn began to sway from a deep wound that he was beginning to feel. He held the wound tight. Ary, who had learned some basic form of tending to wounded wrapped a shawl around the laceration tightly. They both helped eachother along until someone came to aid them.

"By the gods!" A servant says, opening the door. "Come in!" He ushered the two of them into the main hall. Euric came walking down the stairs and when he saw the state Arya was in ran towards her. "Aryanna! Quick, a maester!" A servant next to him immediately made his way out of the door. Euric shoved the other servant tending to them out of the way and held his daughter tight. "What happened?"

Ary started crying again and did so into her father's body.. "Someone tried to kill us!" She wailed, though it ws muffled by Euric's clothing.
Maryn, who looked pale, spoke for the young lady. "A chamber-maid of Lady Aerie spoke to lady Aryanna of a healer that could help the lady Aerie. However, when we arrived at the supposed shop, it was a trap, and we were attacked by 4 men. It was nearly hopeless, but your daughter fought like the warrior himself, and we were eventually aided by Ser Aiden Sand." Recounting the tale, Ser Maryn could hardly believe it himself, and he could not fathom why someone would want sweet Aryanna dead.

Euric held his daughter tight for a long time before looking at Ser Maryn. "Thank you for protecting my daughter. She means the world to me." He stroked her hair. "Please, go find Ser Aiden and ask him to come here. I want to thank him personally."

Maryn nodded, "He rode with us here, but hastily departed to the Red Keep."
"I want Ser Maryn to stay a while." Ary said into her father. "My nose got broke." She added, and pulled away from her father to look at him. "And I killed a man, with my own hands. I want a bath." She shivered. "Will you protect me father?"

"Of course I will." Euric said, a storm clowd of anger brewing behind his eyes. "Servants, prepare a bath for the lady Dayne. I want two... no, four guards outside of her door and two at the bottom of the house below the window." Two servants nodded and went about their business. "Your nose, show it to me." He then said to Arya.

Arya turned her face to show her father the extent of damage done to her face. "Ser Aiden set my nose back. It hurts so bad father." She started sobbing again, "Why would they want to kill me? I've tried to be good papa. The chamber maid, maybe she will try to hurt Aerie."

"Sshhh now, Arya." Euric said, hugging her to him again. "You go have that bath first and then we can talk about this. Daddy will do his best, my little starlet."

Ary went up to her room slowly and was relieved to sink in to her bath once it was prepared. She rubbed along her arms and looked at her bloodied hands. She felt like a different woman now. The water slowly turned red as the maidservant washed her hair. When she was cleaned and scrubbed pink, she donned fresh clothing and crawled into bed, and awaited her father.

Euric came in after a while, sitting down on the bed next to her and softly stroking her head. "You said something about a chamber maid earlier on?"

"Aerie's chambermaid. She had come to fetch me one night when Aerie was having a fit, I thought she was nice for doing so." She held the covers over herself, comforted by the warmth of the blankets. "When I was speaking with Ser Aerion in the garden yesterday she came to me again and told me how her friend's grandfather had the same condition, but it was cured by a herbalist in the city. He used a potion or something. She didn't know the name of the man but where to find him, and I went there with Ser Maryn. But the only thing that was there was a book and a lamp and a table. A man tried shooting at me with a crossbow but he missed and there were men after Ser Maryn but I couldn't really see. The man smashed my face on the table."

Euric looked grim but let the question he wanted to ask drop. "I will have a word with that chambermaid and tell Ser Maryn to find out what that place you were sent to really is." He smiled. "You can stay here as long as you want, my darling."

"Okay. I just hope Aerie is safe. Thank you father. How bad do I look?"
