"Unless you have a strong objection I am going to name Quentyn to the head of the Gold Cloaks." Daemon replied.

"I had not thought of that, but I believe it an excellent decision. He seems to be an extremely capable man, and has worked with the City Watch before I am led to understand."

Daemon nodded, "I am glad you agree. I have nothing else for you, my brother."

//////////
A tall figure wrapped in a hooded black cloak arrived at the kings apparentments and demanded instant entry. The guards knew that commanding voice and the speaker fully expected instant obedience.

The Soldiers nodded, and said, "He is expecting you." They opened the door granting her entrance.

The woman entered and flung back her hood. The pale gold had fled from her hair, making it a true Targaryen silver now and the green eyes blazed with fury as Rhaenys Targaryen looked around for her son the king.
"Out," she ordered the guards. "The king and I must speak alone."

The King looked up and yawned, "Aidan, and Aerion are staying Mother." He lounged back in his chair and said, "Now pour me some wine, and then we can have a nice pleasant chat."

Rhaenys looked directly at her secondborn.
"I will not pour you wine, Daemon. I am your mother, not your serving girl. You should be pouring wine for me, not the other way around."
She glanced around at the Kingsguard knights. It was clear that she was both angry and on edge.
"They may stay if you wish but I very much doubt you wish them to hear what I have to say."

Daemon glanced at Aidan and nodded. He stepped forward and backhanded Rhae across her face. She was shocked at the speed he moved, and at the fact she was being struck.
Aerion moved around to guard the door.
Daemon looked at his mother and smiled, "You forget yourself Mother. Now apologize, and pour me that wine, or I will have you installed in a tower until you come to your senses."

Rhaenys looked coldly at her son; she could not quite believe he was hers. No man had ever struck her before, as far as she could remember and she would not put up with it.
"These are no true knights," she said quietly as she walked over to the cabinet and poured two glasses of wine. She walked over to Daemon, carrying the wine with care. The first one she threw in Daemon's face, the second she tipped over his crotch.
"You bastard. That is no way to treat your own mother."

Daemon shook his head, and sighed. He slowly wiped away the wine from his face, "This is why you were such a poor queen. You have no control over your own actions. You claim to be my mother, and unfortunately that is true, but you act like a child of seven. Throwing wine?" He looked at her with a disappointing gaze, "Are you done with your tantrum?"

"i am not done," Rhaenys snapped. "You, Daemon, are not fit to call yourself my son. All my life I did the best I could for you and tried to live honourably, though it wasn't always easy to do so. And yet here you are, the first of my sons. You assault your own mother, marry your sister and father a son on her, and sentence your brother to death! So don't you dare tell me I was a bad queen. I at least had a sense of appropriateness and you have none at all."

Daemon laughed, "You are so weak... I am amazed you have any dragon blood in you at all."

"Quiet or I swear I shall slap you," Rhenys warned. "I never once laid hands on any of my children because I loved you all so much but now, how can I love a son who behaves as you do, and my daughter...you must have corrupted Joanna, Daemon."
