Joanna nodded.
"Yes, Mother is here. To be honest, I think Maekar may have had it put out that Mother was more ill than she truly was, or Daemon. We spoke only breifly, she and I. She's very unhappy."

"Oh..I'm happy she's well. I was concerned for her health but it's a relief that she is doing better. Perhaps there could be a dinner? I don't know how she is with such things as the last time I saw her was when I was very young."

"I wish that were possible," Joanna sighed. "But Mother says she does not mean to make a long stay at Court. Truth be told, I think she does not care for Kings Landing any more."

"Ah yes I see." She didn't but she supposed it was another excuse. "I pray that she has not become a recluse, that would be a shame."

"I am not sure," Joanna admitted. "My mother does not care for my marriage, I know. Perhaps that is the problem."
She knew, in fact, that it was at least part of the problem.
"Perhaps you could speak with my mother if you really feel it will be beneficial? I know that Mother would not turn you away if so, after all you are the child of her sister and her dear friend."

"I would like to speak with her, not about anything in particular, but I would feel odd without an introduction now. When I was at the Eyrie, speaking with her would have been a circumstance of me being there in the same place, but now it is a bit more different. But I may seek her out now."

"I'll help, if you like," Joanna offered. "There's not much else I can do for you at present, and I would like to. Daemon has not been fair to you, cousin, nor to many people save myself.."
And even she had not been given her heart's desire.
"Mother sought me out here, much as you have done. She has refused to stay in the castle, for reasons I cannot imagine. She is staying aboard the ship that brought her here."

"Oh," She did not like to have to go aboard a ship, she always had to lift up her dress in such a way she felt uncomfortable and sailors always were the leering type. "Well then I shall seek her out but hopefully can meet her here in the keep some time. Perhaps if you let her know I'd like to speak with her a little while. It wouldn't be too long, perhaps just over a cup of tea."

"I will do so but I think my mother would rather see you on her own territory, in a way. She and Daemon seem to have parted on the worst possible terms," Joanna said. "Are you sure you would not rather visit her at the ship? It's called the Twin Eagles."

Aryanna looked thoughtful. "I will see about it. If it's as you say then perhaps his grace would not like anyone visiting her at all."

"I'm afraid that may be the case, so that is why you should visit my mother outside of the castle. You don't want to get into trouble with Daemon again, do you?" Joanna asked softly. "Mother is strong enough to withstand whatever he may do to her, but you are so young and...I do not wish to see you suffer unnecessarily."

"No I don't want to get in trouble again, which is why I'm apprehensive." It was difficult talking freely with kingsguard eavesdropping and she realised she probably shouldn't have made mention of wanting to see the former queen on second thought. "Is there anything you want of me before I go? My brother Beric has recently arrived to King's Landing from Braavos, and we will be spending some time together."

"I need nothing, Arya, but please give my best wishes to Beric, and keep yourself safe," Joanna answered seriously. "I know we have not always seen eye to eye but I hope you know that I wish you well. I want nothing bad to happen to you. If you do go to see Mother, be sure to plan it carefully."

"Yes, thank you for seeing me." Arya smiled and curtsied before leaving.
