anni smiled weakly. She was exhausted. she seemd to visably slump down against the pillow. 'Are you sure i am ok to stay? I really dont want to cause any trouble or problems between you and your husband.'

"You won't. Daemon would not want you to suffer, especially since you have just produced another dragon. He's very interested in the children of the family," Joanna said reassuringly. "All will be well, I promise you. Besides, the fault is mine, not yours."

"Joanna, please!" She said, laughing. "In fact, Anni, in future, if you call me 'Your Grace' or tell me that you don't deserve my favour I will insist you put a silver stag in a box and keep it here in my chambers to be given to your new son when he is a man grown."
She walked across the room and produced a trinket box, wooden and painted black with the red three-headed dragon in the centre.
"We'll use this."
