"Because I presumed to speak on Morgan's behalf I suppose. No one else would speak for her." She shrugged. "She will be lonely." Aryanna said softly and sadly.

"Yes, though she does have Becca. I am sorry for you both, Arya, but even I cannot ask the king to do something that is against his wishes. I have certainly tried."
She thought for a moment.
"Could you perhaps wed a man whose castle is close to Court? Then you would be near at hand and able to try your hand at persuading Daemon to relent."

"His grace will not mingle in my affairs if I do not mingle with the Queen. I still have a few years to decide on a husband. " Arya kicked at the floor unhappily. "I will go now before I spread any more of my sadness."

Joanna hugged Arya.
"Oh, cousin, this is awful. There must be something for you to do. I know how you hate to be idle. You are welcome to visit me any time you wish, though please tell me now if there is another role you would like to take on until you are permitted to see Morgan again. I'd be happy to help you achieve it."

"I will think about it. I like the garden and arranging parties. We spoke of it before, about myself ordering servants about to make things prettier." She shrugged again and wiped her eye. "I will of course visit you."

"Good. I will consider speaking to Daemon on your behalf. I may be able to restore you to your former place but please don't get your hopes up. I am not as confident of persuading Daemon to my will as I used to be. He is dreadfully obstinate.. In the meantime, would you like me to speak to the Chief Steward about getting you a position with him?"

"It is kind of you to speak on my behalf but I rather not have my name mentioned to his grace so soon. It would be best to take some time off and when I feel better about things I will take you up on your grace's offer for either a position on your side or somewhere else where I can be of use." She smiled slightly.

"Oh good. I'd be sorry to lose you from Court, Arya. Perhaps you should take a break from Court entirely. Go to Sumerhall or Starfall or somewhere. Or, do you know my goodsister Calla at all? If so you might visit her at Highgarden. She may be lonely."

"I have heard of her but haven't had a chance to speak. I will have to put it to serious thought tonight. Thank you for your faith in me...and my congratulations on your son. I had met with Lady Anni the other day, and her son was quite charming. I had a chance to hold him."

"I can see the experience pleased you. Would you like to see Selwyn now, in case you do decide to go away from Court for a while?"

"Well..I suppose I cannot say no, I liked the feeling of holding little Sebastian and looking at little baby faces charms me."

"Then I shall fetch Selwyn at once."
Joanna went away then camae back with her son, who she put into Arya's arms. Selwyn had purple eyes and his hair, the little he had, was silver.

"So cute." She held him close and looked down at him, a lock of her hair dropping near his face. "I don't know how good a mother I would be, but I would certainly enjoy holding my babe night and day. Is it the same for your grace?"

"Yes, though I have many other matters that claim my attention. Sill, I always make sure I spend time with my son. He's usually close by even when I am not holding him, and we go to see the dragons together. It's important for them to know him too."

"I hope he isn't frightened by them. I don't think I'll ever get to hold a king again like this.." She giggled. "Is it true that your mother is here? Some of the serving girls spoke of it but I wasn't sure if it was true. They always told me she was near death when I was at the Eyrie."
