"Yes..they are very wealthy. I will look for some of their knights in the coming tournament. I am lucky that I have people to turn to that care for me. Perhaps you can keep an eye out for a proper suitor for me as well? I would be greatful."

"I'll do my best, though I doubt the eligible young men will seek out a married woman like me."
Joanna shrugged elegantly. She did everything with elegance.
"Do you have any qualities you seek in the man himself?"

"I suppose he has to be intelligent, and sympathetic to my feelings. Courageous as well." She remembered what the Queen said about the king, "And he must have a soft side."

"All good qualities. What about looks? What kind of features please you?"

"Well kept hair, nothing too long, a short beard if he must insist on having one. Something like the King I suppose. He must be strong. Is that so much to ask for?"

"Not at all. I think you are quite reasonable but not all men are made of the stuff of a maiden's fantasy."
Joanna thought for a moment.
"You are a maiden, I assume?"

Arya was slightly taken aback by her question, "Why would you ask such a thing? Of course I am a maiden!" Of late however, she had fantasized about being with the King, and in her dreams she was not a maiden. She turned terribly red.

Joanna knew that look well from her time at Court.
"I believe you, of course," she said. "Not all girls go totheir marriage bed a maiden so I was curiuos. I think, hwoever, taht there is some man you like. Do I know him?"

"Wha-Well how did you know that?" She was nervous now. "I think I have feelings for him but they are better left unsaid."

"oh."
Joanna's gaze intensified. She was clearly interested in this matter.
"You would not say that if he were suitable so something must be wrong with him. is he married, or lowborn?"

"Of course he is not lowborn. There is no use in talking about it Joanna, it will only hurt me more in the present and it is best to forget about it."

"I only wanted to help. I am sorry you have feelings for someone who cannot love you. I would not wish that fate on any woman."

"Nor I. If I put the feelings far from my mind then it will be easier to forget him. I appreciate your help and being able to talk with you. I am just a silly maiden."

"Not silly, never that, cousin. You seem to be approaching the whole business quite well. Love is sweet but you have to look at marriage from all the possible angles and I hear love can blind a person and blunt their wits. It is better to marry and then love than to be in love and find that you cannot live with the man you love."

Arya nodded with a far away look in her eyes and sighed heavily. "Thank you, I will come see you again, should anything happen." She gave her cousin a kiss on the cheek before leaving.
