Anni smiled. 'You have been so good to me Joanna.' She said her eyes welling up again.

"Well, then, how would you like to guard my sister queen, Morgan? I'd need you to swear to protect her whatever the cost and avenge any wrongs done her by enemies of the king. And, of course, to let me know if anything happens to her or is done by her that would be of interest to me."

Joanna hugged Anni.
"it's no less than you deserve. You are a good woman, Anni, and have become a sister to me. Maekar doesn't know what a treasure he has."

Joanna grinned.
"So are we all, when our children are safely born. And you are the one who said you quite enjoyed being with child! Oh, Anni, I hope I don't conceive a child again for a while. I've quite enough to worry about with four and besides, I long to get into the air once more."
Her eyes seemed to burn with anticipation.
"The dragons mean so much to me. I should be ready to fly again soon. If you like I'll fly past your window so you can see?"
///////////
She msiled at Kyle.
"My good man, your enthusiasm will surely be rewarded in life and by the gods themselves. Perhaps you are just the man to lift Morgan's spirits. The poor woman is quite miserable at present and her present protectors are not as kind to her as they could be, for all they wear the white cloaks of the Kingsguard."
She paused, thoughtful.
"There is one small matter though that we must agree on. I will give you this duty but you must not, under any circumstances, tell Morgan that it was I who gave it to you. Is that understood?"

'That would be a great pleasure your grace.' She smiled. 'I fear this child is going to grate on my husbands nerves when it is born. It does not wish to lie still.'

"Oh, well, you should tell Maekar to be grateful you have given him another child, if he complains," Joanna suggested. "It's no more than the truth. Besides, he'll likely appreciate an active child when it's older, especially if a boy."

'I did not look at it in that light, Vaen is active now but was very lazy when i was with child with him.' She smiled. 'As was Saella, but she's still pretty lazy now as well.' Anni smiled she put her hands to her stomach

"How old are each of them now?" Joanna asked. "It's irresponsible of me, I know, but I have quite forgotten!"

"A sweet age," Joanna murmured. "I wish you constant joy of them and of this one too. I will ask Daemon to call Maekar back to the city so we may stay together. I hardly see how he can refuse me now. Is there anything else you need?"

'No, no you have done plenty enough for me Joanna, much of which i am sure i do not deserve.'

"I'm quite sure that you do," Joanna said. "You worry too much about deserving things, Anni. Life is much pleasanter if you simply take what you are offered, though I honour you for your conscience."
/////////
"Good. If you have any...concerns, shall we say, about Morgan's conduct or safety, send word to my man Benjen," Joanna commanded. "It's best if you and I are not seen together and Benjen is not highborn enough to attract notice."

She smiled at Joanna, 'I thank you again your grace.' She put her hand to her stomach as the baby shifted again
