Simon arrives briskly, not wanting to miss anything Euric has to say. Ser Cleos arrives later, his movements slow and a groggy look about him.

Owen arrives a bit after Ser Simon and Ser Cleos. He'd been washing the dirt and grime of the past few days in the nearby creek when the summons came to him, so he arrived looking and feeling fresh. "Good day, Lord Euric," he said upon stepping into the tent, a nod to the other men who'd already arrived.

"Greetings, men." Euric said, drawing them towards his map table. "I have just recieved news from our scouts that Grassy Vale has fallen to the Dornish." He pointed at the map. "As you know we are here." He pointed at a spot on the Rose Road between Bitterbridge and Highgarden. "It seems the Dornish circumvented us and appear to be marching to Kings Landing, though it may just be a feint." He looked up at the men. "Any opinions?"

"I suppose it is a matter of how quickly they think they could take the city," Owen said, looking over the map. "The city is not well defended, but for her walls, though they're only as stout as the men who fight upon them. If they think they could take the Capital in a day or two, then they'll likely head that way, as they've got a bit of an angle on us, provided they even know where we are. If the City can defend it's self for a couple of days, we may be able to smash them against her walls," he shrugged. "It's difficult to say what a man I've never met might be thinking."

"I don't wish to move on a whim." Euric replies, nodding at what Owen had said. "If we force march back towards Kings Landing and suddenly find the Dornish moved towards Longtable or Dawnrose Keep we can quit." He punched the table. "Damn it, where the hell are they going?"

"Aye," Owen agreed. "Though if we stay here and they march north, we leave Kings Landing largely undefended, it's doom a near certainty." He paused, thinking as he looked over the map. I suppose we could try to confuse them a bit, though it would take some luck," he said finally.

Euric raised an eyebrow. "Let's hear your suggestion."

"Well, it's probably a long shot, but I was thinking a small force of cavalry could likely over take them in fairly short order, as large and cumbersome as an army that size is. If they could move north of the Dornish army undetected, they might be able to give the impression that they are scouting our advance to the south, which might cause the Dornish to seek a refuge for their army, perhaps at Bitterbridge or Tumbleton. Of course, if they already know our main force is well to their west, it would make little difference, though, at least we'd know their movements." He shook his head, frustrated, "I don't know, Lord Euric. It appears we're in a rather difficult position."

Euric frowns. "An interesting idea but I doubt it would work. With the size of this Dornish army I need every single man here." He sighed. "I will however send word to Kings Landing and tell them an army could be on it's way, just to be safe. This is a terrible situation..."

Owen nodded. He hadn't had high hopes for his idea anyway. "Lord Euric, if I may be so bold, why did we come so far to the west in the first place?" he asked, with the slightest bit of hesitancy.

"It was a bit risky I admit, but we could let the Dornish just run wild in the Mander." Euric replied with a tired expression. "Had we simply stayed at Kings Landing there would have been the danger of the Mander turning on us for not helping."

"What's done is done, in any case, no point in digging through the past looking for things we might change if we'd have known this or that," Owen replied, seeing that Euric was near his limit. He looked around the room at the two Riverland Knights and Borcas, hoping they might have something more valuable to say then he could think of.
