At the encounter, Emelia smiled at Rhodri. "Oh. Hello, Lord Rhodri. I'm sorry, I didn't see you coming."
She looked at Rhodri. "I'm sorry to hear about your kinsman."

OOC: I'll assume you refer to Jon. There is more than one that statement could apply to right now (my cousin just died in battle).
IC: "It's the last time I will allow him to embarrass our house. His sword is sharp but his mind is dull. The quiet life in Runestone might suit him now," Rhodri replies.

Mad Alliser, who had stalked his liege to King's Landing, stood with his new sword and checked out the Princess while she spoke to Lord Arryn.

OOC: Right. No knowledge of the other matter, and Jon is on her mind.
Emelia nodded. "Still, I can't help feel that if I'd acted to constrain Anya when I first had proof of her indiscretions, this mess could have been avoided, so I must take a part of the blame."

"However the queen behaved, I had thought more highly of mine own house. He should not have sullied himself so. That said, we must find some accommodation, for the sake of the Princes," Rhodri says. "It will be strange for them, with their mother exiled."

Emelia nodded. "Indeed. If the marriage is annulled, the Princes become bastard-born, but reconciling the marriage is undoubtedly out of the question." She sighed. "Damnable mess."
She shrugged to Rhodri and continued to walk with him. "Regardless, I suppose the first thing to do is find Callen's plans out." She then seemed to speak to the air.
"Cow-knight," she said, without looking back, "stop staring at my ass."

"We have no reason to believe the sons are not Callen's, and calling them bastards now will only lead to succession issues in a generation, as they will be older than any future sons Callen fathers, and will surely find discontented lords to provide them arms. Better that the marriage be honored, even if Anya remains in exile, and raise the sons as Princes of the realm," Rhodri says. "Even if that means his grace cannot wed again."

"It's very nice," Alliser said earnestly. "Where did you get it?"

She looked at Rhodri. "He can have his cake and eat it too, if Anya joined the silent sisters," she responded. "Kinder than what the Targaryens would have done to their unfaithful wives."
She turned to Alliser with a disgusted frown, then shook her head. "Never mind," she said to herself.

Mad Alliser subsided, eyes dancing.

"Perhaps that is the best idea, though Anya hardly seems a fit candidate," Rhodri says with a smile.

Emelia chuckled. "Oh, I don't know," she responded, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Her new husband, if that is the proper word, would undoubtedly turn her off sex quickly enough."

"We can only hope," Rhodri replies. Changing subject, he asks "How fares Dorne? Did you suffer much damage from the Starfalls? I heard there were two collisions in the Principality."

A raven arrives at the Red Keep. The message is addressed to Lord Arryn, when the steward realizes that Lord Arryn is in the house he has a page give the message to the Warden of the East. It reads:
Lord Arryn,
With regret I write to inform you that Ser Casset Corbray, Knight of the Bloody Gate, is dead at the hands of a warlord of Moon Brothers. He was killed while leading the army to victory over the Moon Brother host. The clansmen were routed and have retreated to their keep. Ser Roland intends to continue the attack on the Moon Brothers. It took me three days to reach the Bloody Gate after leaving the army and I suspect the matter will be finished, one way or the other, before this message reaches you. If you have any instructions I wait at the Bloody Gate.
Yours in service, Ser Daven Hersey
