////////////////////// Shortly after a Royce banner rises over Bronzehall, the small entourage of Lord Justin Hightower arrives.
Justin is dressed in his usual greys, behind him his sworn sword and sword shield Ser Tristan and Ser Jacques.
"I've come to call upon Lord Royce if he be home, or Master Brandon if he be in."

The guard let them in. "Master Brandon is in, Lord Hightower. He should be in the yard".

Justin moved to the yard, where he found Brandon.
"Ah, Master Brandon, a pleasure. We are glad you were able to come to King's Landing for this tourney, in truth, the Vale's attendance does greatly improve the guest list."

Brandon smiles, "It is good to see you to Lord Hightower. I might not have made the journey if the sons hadn't nearly begged me to death. How is things in the city?"

"Ah, King's Landing, the only city in the world where the filth flows up from the sea to the streets, instead of the other way around." He made a gesture with his arm in an easterly direction.
"I find the city remarkably unappealing. If duties in the small council didn't keep me here, I would be long gone I assure you."

Brandon nods, "Atleast it's better than Braavos, I remember my life there in my earlier days. The smells, shouting, ships carrying foreigners..." Brandon get a far away look in his eyes, but eventually shakes it off. "It doesn't seem as appealing as it used to. The filth usually disappeared into the sea right away though, not everything though.. unfortunatly"

"The boundaries of Braavos seem much increased since you were there last." Justin said, trying another tact. "How does that sit with you, knowing what you do of the Braavosi people."

"They are a very ambitious people," Brandon began. "It wouldn't surprise me if they wanted more land". He shook his head and his eyes looked in the direction of the Red Keep for a few seconds.

Justin nodded, "An old knight of mine told me yesterday, he hadn't seen so many Braavosi in the Red Keep since Andry Baratheon's brief... stint as ah... regent. How fairs my wife's cuz? I suspect he loves King's Landing not?"

"I think he likes it less than his father did, though with his permanent scowl you would think he disliked everything," Brandon chuckled "I don't think that he will come though"

"If he liked it less than Lord Roland, I can scarcely imagine his contempt. Lord Roland despised this city and it's politics, or so my brother-in-law Lord Cyrus tells me." Justin said with a shrug. "I am often times envious of the Vale and its Bloody Gate."

"Runestone and Wickenden are unfortunatly on the other side of the mountains," Brandon said. "Howland onetime said that he'd like to build a great wall to make up for it, I am not sure if he was jesting or not."

"Oh. I should like to return to Runestone and speak with Lord Howland. I did greatly enjoy my time there. Are the Mountain Clans much quieter? It seems blasphemous to say so, but I am thankful for the education I was able to get at their expense, thanks to Ser Scot."

"The clans aren't bothering anyone at the moment. They are like children that has burnt their hands one time too many and fear the fire though I suppose another metaphore would be needed to describe the Burned Men. How is things in Oldtown?"

"Well, we have frustrations of our owns. Paying the Dornish premium on foreign trade is frustrating my lords beyond measure. Why the Braavosi have sought to make that filthy little hovel a base of trade is beyond me. All they can do is unload the ships at Sunspear, than put them on Dornish flagged vessels and sail them to real cities like Oldtown and Lannisport where the goods are actually needed and wanted. You can't very well take them over land through the desert. The cost to do so would be unimaginable. Yet our robust trade roads go underutilized. I refuse to believe its because the Sealord is a financial simpleton. It must be an intentional move for political reasons."
