"Fuck ancestral lands, the Iron Born will not be giving the Arbor up and if your too dense to notice that, then maybe you shouldn't be here." He was growing tired of this,"The way Fairwynd sees it, he payed the Iron Price and now he wants to keep his prize. And as for losing ancestral lands, the Shield Isles were given to us, and there houses lost lands, so why the fuck should that matter."

Maekar shrugged, pretending he knew nothoing of the Shields , though that was a matter for another day.
"Would Farwynd accept any other lands?"

"Maybe depends on what it is?" He started to calm down, he was too interested.

Maekar sighed.
"Truth be told, he doesn't deserve anything save an axe to the neck. I shouldn[t need to bargain with the bastard. He should be the one bargaining with me, for his life."

He laughed quietly,"Well when you have a big fleet, experienced men, and are feared everywhere. You sorta don't have to bargain, unless its for you benefit. He could just kill us, destroy the remainders of the fleet and then do what he wants, probably to King's Landing."

"He could, but the queen has a fleet too," Maekar pointed out. "She has the city as well. Killing us would be tantamount to Farwynd signing his own death warrant. You Ironborn have your pride, I know, but surely you have a sense of self-preservation too?"

"We do, but we could destroy the Redwyne fleet, wait for the Crownlanders and destroy them. It might diminish us but we would still be the biggest power at sea and then we would still destroy Kings Landing. We are nigh invincible at sea, best ships, best commanders, and best men. We will not be destroyed as easily as you think. Now if you had a superb commander and united the fleets it might work out."

Maekar glared at Drumm.
"The way you say 'we' makes you sound like one of Farywnd's people, not someone who has bend the knee to to the queen! Best make your mind up which it is. Fast."

"I'm bent the knee, you used you when you where talking about Iron Born, so I used it to. But yes I am loyal to the Queen, end of story, and so is my family."

"Good."
You'd better be.
"Well, then, I think I must tell Farwynd tht his options are limited. Come. Let us rejoin him."
He headed back towards Farwynd.

He nodded and headed back towards Fairwynd.

Maekar approached Farwynd.
"You can't have the Arbor. You have a month to leave the island and go back to your own home."

Ragnor, following, claps a hand on Maekar's shoulder.
"Don't worry about that. You and your delegation are invited to a dinner in my quarters tonight, after the moot. We'll discuss the matter there."

Maekar looked at the Ironborn youth. He'd been wondering about Greyjoy and whether he had the strength to commadn Farwynd.
"As you wish," he said. !"Is he invited?"
He jerked a thumb back at Farwynd.

"He'll be privy to all that goes on, but if you prefer, it will only be my men there."
