The Golden Tooth is placed so that it can control the one large pass through the mountains that allows direct travel between the Riverlands and the West.

Lord Oswell Tully leads his army within sight of the castle and orders a halt. Word is shouted down the line as the column of men begins to come to a jarring stop. Oswell leaves the men in charge of Simon Whent and rides for the keep, accompanied by Prince Aegon and Lord Jarren Blackwood, each brings a squire holding their banners flying beneath the three headed dragon of Targaryen.
The men ride up to the gate and stop. Oswell calls to the men on the wall, "Hello there! Open the Gate!"

The Gates are held, and a Knight walks to the wall and yells down, "Why the fuck should we do that?"

"I am here to speak with your lord. We march for Dustwind to oust the Cult by order of Queen Rhaenys. I come in peace, and was told you would be forwarned of my coming."

The man leaned back and whispered to some one and then leaned forward, "Warned by who?"

Oswell frowned, "By Queen Rhaenys. She told me she was to notify the lords of the West of my intentions on marching for Dustwind and to ask that troops be added to our cause by any who could spare them."

"There is no Queen here. Maybe she meant a different Golden Tooth." The man replied.

Oswell was growing frustrated. "The Queen is not here you blathering idiot. She is most likely in Kings Landing by now. Now do you mean to let me speak with your lord or not?"

"I am Castelon her. Ser Justin is my name. My Lord can not hear you." Justin shouted down.

Oswell sighed, "Then I will talk with you Ser, since your lord is not available. As I have told you, we are riding for Dustwind to destroy the Cult that are holed up there. Do you know anything of the keep itself? And would you be able to spare any men to aid us?"

"There is no keep named Dustwind. Not around here. I think you guys are lost." Justin replied.

"We are told Dustwind is a small keep, most likely little known even around here. It is supposed to be south of here. we are not lost Ser, I can assure you. Perhaps it goes by another name. But whether you intend to lend us men or not we will be going south to find this keep, no matter what name it goes by."

"Nope... that makes no sense what so ever." Justin replied, "We have an abandoned mining village a little south of here in almost the position you described."

"No matter, south is where we ride from here, and it seems we will go with no help from you. Thank you for your time Ser, I will not soon forget it," Oswell says in a cold voice. He turns his horse and makes to leave.

"You know it is an odd coincidence, but that mining village... it was called Dustwind as well." A great many of the knights atop the wall can be heard to be laughing.
