Euric was shown into the queen's presence. Rhaenys was accompanied only by her lady-in-waiting, Obara Ladybright. Both women greeted Euric with smiles. Rhaenys was much happier to be in the Crownlands at last, and thus near her goal of Kings Landing.
"Euric, welcome," she said. "What can I do for you today?"

"Good day, Rhaenys." Euric said with a smile. "I have been thinking about putting myself to some work; work that does not involve ancient law books. If granted I would like to lead a force that will strike against one of the fortresses at which members of the Cult are located."

"oh yes? I'm glad to know you have not lost your taste for blood, my friend," said Rhaenys. "Which region would you choose? I don't need your assistance with the keep in the West since Lord Tully and Aegon are dealing with that one. There are two in the Mander. Lord Dawnrose is instructed to begin working on those once he has finished raising men, and it is my intentino that our main army will move south under Selwyn's commadn to deal with those keeps in the Crownlands. I do not wish to attack the remaining two strongholds until the Cultists in the four I mentioned have been oblitereated. So, either you remain with me and begin assualting the Crownlands keep, or you may join Lord Dawnrose in the Mander."

"If I may I would wish to take a force of men into the Mander, to assault the keep that lord Dawnrose is not." He grinned. "I think it may be important to set up Reach and Dornish relationships and nothing could be better than a Dornishman lending his support to free the Mander of the Cult."

Ganieda arrived after getting the summonds, she bowed her head to Rhaenys.
"My Queen." She said, both as greeting and as a question.

The look Rhaenys gave Euric was doubtful.
"Mander and Dornish relations, Euric? That will be no easy job," she warned. "In fact, the Mander lords may not be remotely grateful to you for aiding them. In fact, I intended at first to send Borcas with Lord Dawnrose, to have one of mine own people among his company. Dawnrose seemed appalled by the very idea, not on account of Borcas' strange past, but because he was born a Far Reachman. If the Mander lords hate the men of the Far Reach, they'll hate the Dornish even more, because they are centuries of hatred ahead."
She paused, thinking.
"I am willing for you to go, but we must find a way to do so without offending Mander sensibilities. Perhaps an alliance of some kind, or you could take one of the Mander lords with you. Or...you will not like this, I know, but honour would be satisfied with the Mandermen if you were to serve as the second to one of their own. What do you think?"

Rhaenys greeted Ganieda with a smile.
"Lady Greyjoy, sit and drink wine with me. I would like to speak to you about matters pertaining to your people."

She did as Rhaenys said.
"That sounds... interesting your grace, what have my people done now to offend the world?" She smiled as she talked, showing that she was jesting.

"Nothing of late, I hope," Rhaenys answered. "Although, the matter in question does appear to have offended certain soutrhon lords. You Ironborn have certain holdings that are nt in the Iron Islands themselves, I believe?"

She thought for a moment.
"The only one that we have 'acquired' lately is the Arbor." she said thoughtfully. "Other then that I dont know what you mean."

"What about the Shields?"

She smiled. "So the Dawnrose's and Oakhearts still complaining about that? Your Grace, we've had the shields for nearly twenty years. I've even travelled there myself when I was but a little younger, and none of the people there seemed much bothered by the force that was left to protect them, many have even found salt husbands within our numbers."

"Oh really?"
Rhaenys looked troubled by that information.
"I promised Lord Dawnrose I'd look into the matter but it was my concern that a change of regime might upset the apple cart, as it were. The people of the Shields are treated with honour, then?"

"As ever we could do." She replied sweetly. "I know that at least a few of our men have settled there and even taken rock wives there, starting families. I doubt that those people would be best pleased if we were to suddenly vacate."
She smiled, then added as an afterthought. "And I doubt that any sweet greenlanders would last long on our islands."

"Naturally anyone who has a family would be permitted to remain," Rhaenys said. "I am afraid the Mander lords take Ironborn occupation of the Shields as a slight to themselves."

"As they have since we were given them by the reigning monarch at the time." She replied. "And as Im sure they would until time itself stood still."
