Ariel chuckled. "Safer than anywhere else, really. I can always disappear in the night if someone tries to have me removed."

"I can think of a few safe places. But I'm sure you will not pay heed to my concerns just like the queen. In that way I'm helpless. Do I need to start kidnapping my friends to keep them from harm?" Her voice was concerned and she began to get flustered.

Ariel looked at Shahrizai. "Where would you suggest?" she asked. "Not in Winterfell Castle. I'm safer in the field than behind stone walls."

Shah shrugged, "A ship, Braavos, or Myr. At least I would have confidence I could help in some form. And I don't think a castle could hold you."

"A ship can sink," responded Ariel simply. "If I live I face the risks of childbirth, or of plague. And should I evade those, I will suffer decline and death by age. Valar morghulis." She smiled. "So with that in mind, I'd rather put my life somewhere where I can make use of it."

"So be it," she said dejectedly and started tearing up. "Sorry, still high on emotion from singing. And I certainly don't like hearing a friend being so," Shah frowned. "That's one reason I like you though, so carefree."

Ariel chuckled and squeezed Shahrizai's hand. "If I were a coward, or one to be easily led, I wouldn't be the Ariel you know."

"That is true, you are a blessing and a curse rolled into one my princess. Someone that I care to love for and then chastise myself afterward for following my feelings. I don't know much about it so far, but that is how it seems to me."

Ariel smiled. "Trust me, I understand completely." She lowered her voice. "I have to deal with Rhaenys."

Shah stared at her in a perplexed manner, "What? What does she have to do with anything? Don't toy with me.."

Ariel giggled at Shahrizai. "She is my dear cousin, and I care for her, and she drives me completely up the walls sometimes, Shahrizai. So believe me, I understand where you are coming from."

"Ah I see." She wanted to press Ariel's hand to her face and kiss it but she didn't expect that was what Ariel felt about her cousin. "Mmm." She closed her eyes with the thought for a moment. "Well, I will look forward to that invitation you promised."

Ariel smiled. "Oh, of course. Assuming I live long enough to swim out from duty, and find time for pleasure again."

Shah frowned. "IT would do you good to take breaks more often. Unless you really are in danger constantly then my hair will go gray sooner than I wish. I'll just invite you if you do not wish me to visit."

"Not dangerous, fortunately. Merely hard work, keeping letters flowing and men in the right places to carry the queen. But you're right, I'm sure I could use more recreation. If only there were more time..."
