Dyther cheered the attractive Myrish woman. He also cheered the ale that was being tossed about like water.

Oswell cheered and whistled and cheered her on as she made her way through the crowd.

Shah lets her hand linger in Ariel's and laughs embarassingly, "Excuse me, I will go freshen up before my performance." "Of course," said Ariel. /// As Shahrizai broke away from the Queen, she sidled close to her cousin and smiled. "Glad you could make it, Your Grace." She turned towards the singing merchant.

Shah took her position and she spoke to the gathered audience of nobles and knights, "Thank you for coming to my small performance." Her westerosi was still very rough but she had practiced that one line out. "I am Lady Shahrizah from Myr, merchant and singer." She speaks through her translator now who spoke in a loud voice, "The lady thanks her hosts, Lady Beatrice and Lord Tyberion, and owes gratitude to the Queen and her friends that are gathered here today. We have all faced difficult times and we know loss, and there is still much work to be done. But she wishes that you all enjoy this moment, this small reprieve in all that has been said and done over the years."
With that Shah raised her arms and one drummer and a lute player struck a slow melody. She began to tale the tale of Judith, in westerosi, which sounded better when she sang than when she spoke unsurely. A simple woman that joined an army as a camp follower and faced all the harships of a long campaign. Of rape, death and all foul things. She had seen much over the years of travel and fighting that would never cease, but slowly through misfortune or fate she became a more important part of the army. Through a luck or destiny she went face to face with the enemy king, a traitor, a kinslayer and oathbreaker. She took his sword and hacked in his head, once, twice, thrice until it was done and his soul bled through his open neck. It was the Gods she was blessed by, others said, and when she returned to her army she was heralded as a heroine of all the ages, and a Queen in her own right. When the men from the opposing side came to her, she forgave them, for they only followed the oaths they swore and were bound by honour. Honourable men they were, and they aided Judith in her future battles and kept her safe for sparing their lives.
One thing the queen could not find was true love, for she was sworn to the realm and to the gods, and when her reign was over after many years, all remembered her name, but shortly after the men took back to fighting until it was all to be done again.
After a good half hour of singing highs and lows, she finished with a soft sussurations and bowed.

Dyther claps approvingly. He hadn't heard singing in a long time, and thirty minutes of uninterrupted staring at cleavage after four years on the campaign trail felt damned good, he ahd to admit.

Lord Tyberion clapped, and then turned to whisper into Lady Beatrice's ear. She giggled, and covered her mouth.

"Thank you everyone, I think there are drinks to be served now!" Shah stepped down into the crowd to talk with anyone who whished her well or wanted a word.

Ariel smiled widely and slipped towards Shahrizai, clasping her hand. "That was magnificent, Shah. Thank you for your song."

"Hello." She said in westerosi. "I am glad you liked it then." She resumed her speech in Valyrian. "My first time in front of a large Westerosi crowd, but it went well I think." She touched her forehead with the back of her hand. "Thank you for coming again, a thousand thank yous."

Ariel smiled softly. "It was the least I could do for my best friend. I see you've begun learning our language quite well, too. I hope your translator won't be too put out by your facility?"

Shah turned red for once,"I'm honoured to be your best friend, why we never met sooner I do not know."
She breahed out in a sigh, "I'm learning the language bit by bit, I must admit I was lacksidasical in my efforts before, but now there is more time for talking than for marching or fighting, at least for me anyway. As for Rekhmire, he's happy to have a bit of his own freedom. But he still protects me as a guard and steps in when I'm not sure of a word or need help with a figure of speech. And what are your plans for this evening?"

Ariel shrugged. "To be honest, I didn't have much in the way of planning beyond getting out of my tent and socializing, and of course listening to your sweet music. What about yourself?"

"Attending court and exploring more of this large castle. And thinking about what to do next. Hopefully we'll get to spend more time together no? If you go with Selwyn I think I will follow."

Ariel looked to Shahrizai. "I'll probably go with Selwyn, yes. And you needn't follow merely on my account. Though I'm certain a savvy merchant can always make a profit from an army." She grinned at that.

"OH I'm not sure, Selwyn is not bound to me nearly as much as the Queen is. I would not want to seperate from my friend so soon. It is too difficult a decision princess. Are you sure you'll be safe with him?"
