Annoyed by the impending trouble, Rhaenys signalled to Maekar, who banged his axe hilt on the table for silence.
"My lords, ladies and free folk! I will have quiet!" Rhaenys called.
She pointed at Borcas.
"Now is not the time to be holding conversations with wildliking women, Borcas. We have important matters to discuss."

"Damn straight!" Kess says, her voice carrying across the room, "Such as. Why the fuck do you send thugs to attack your allies, Dragon Queen?"

Borcas nods to the Queen.
"As you say, My Queen." He gazes back to Kess. "As for you, we'll meet again." His tone is not at all hostile though.

Rhaenys met the wildling woman's gaze calmly, or so it seemed. Inside, she was seething.
"Tell me, my good woman, what is your name? There was never meant to be an attack at all. Lord Tarly overreached himself and he will answer, I promise you that."

A man came up to the hall's entrance, a commoner by appearance.
"I have a letter to deliver for the Queen. The woman who gave me the note said it was relevant to the Council."

"Name's Kess," Kess says. "So where is your Tarly, then? I recall making a promise to him before the battle, and I'd hate to have to break it."

"You may approach."
She looked at Kess.
"Lord Tarly should be here by now. He will come, or he will pay doubly for his failure

Aegon Targaryen arrives flanked by his squire Valarr.
He gives the queen a short clipped bow.
"My lady. Excuse my tardiness.
"I wish to report to you and this company that Lord Hightower's body has been conveyed to Castle Black, where it now lies in state. The battle-field has also been cleared."

After reading the letter, Rhaenys loked around the hall.
"There are too many people who should not be here. I will adjourn this meeting to the Small Council Chamber. Those who are not part of the Council may go about their own affairs. The business of state is not for the idle or the curious."
She walked out, Queensguard at her side.
