The fire faded from the queen's eyes.
"I have dealt with Tarly and I shall deal with Ariel too, when the time comes. Don't worry about it. My shoulders are broad enough. Your job is to lead our dragon men. I shall be removinng Borcas and Maekar from your immediate vicinity for a while so you needn't feel slighted by reminders of what occured. Good day, Aegon."
She beckoned to her companions and walked away.

Aegon said nothing in reply. He moved outside the tent and beckoned to Ser Maekar Velaryon, who came over promptly.
"Yes my Prince?" he asked.
"Take twenty men and escort my cousin and her companions safely and with honor to Castle Black. Then return."
Maekar saluted and went about his duty.

Aegon watched Ser Maekar escort Rhaenys and her two companions out of the camp. When they had left he moved back into his command tent
"It is passing strange," he remarked to the old knight Aerys Velaryon, who was waiting, "that she doubts the most the loyalty of one who would be the most loyal."
Aerys shrugged his shoulders.
"Perhaps you need to re-evaluate your approach."
Aegon nodded and said enigmatically.
"Perhaps I do."
