"Whole host of vicious things, most of them true, which is the mark of a woman who fights dirty." Talyn said, scrounging around the tent and finding a bottle of wine, and uncorking it. "You fought with her during the battle aye? I saw you with her, Martell and Selwyn up there on the rise. How did you find her in wartime?"

"Selwyn's horse was killed under him. I pulled him up, and he saw the great black go down. He told me to ride east. So I did." Rolf raised an eyebrow, "Why so curious, Talyn?"

"A King, a sorcerer, a princess and a washed up old horseman walk out from behind a hill? It's like the punchline to a bad jest, Rolf. Memorable thing to see." Talyn said knowingly.

Rolf nodded, "Try being there. I will never forget it for the rest of my days. But I told Selwyn I would not speak of it."

"HA! So there was something going on worth being told not to speak of! I knew it!" Talyn said with a smile as if Rolf had given the game away.

"I won't lie about it, but I won't speak about it either." Rolf replied, "Not even if you tortured me."

Talyn nodded. "I respect your secrets Rolf. I wouldn't tell me either, even though my curiousity will plague me the rest of my days, I have no doubt."

Rolf nodded, "Not the only pack bags you will carry, but sure enough you will." He smiled.

He clapped Rolf on the shoulder. "go on listening to that beautiful music Rolf. And I'll see you on the march tomorrow." He let himself out.

Rhaenys was considering Drumm's words when her brother arrived. She turned and smiled at Saenerys. "I'm fine, though my heart aches for the loss of my mother. Come speak with me when I'm done here. I will welcome your counsel." She looked back at Drumm. "Talk then," she said. "Will you bend the knee?" "I told Selwyn I would follow him, and he has knelt, so so will I." His hands tightened into fists and his blue eyes narrowed,"But I will watch you and if you are not fit for rule, I will leave." With that said he turned around and left.

Rhaenys watched Drumm go, fighting to quell her irritation. That was no way for a bannerlord to talk to a monarch. She signalled to Jeyne, her bodyguard.
"Watch that man well," she said. "And tell the men to do likewise. I will not allow him to speak to me in that manner again."
Jeyne nodded.
"It will be as Your Grace commands."
