An interesting question. I would think you'd be alright with anything short of King beyond the wall. If you wanted to be Magnar of the Thanns or something, that'd probably be alright. I do know that characters who have played Captains of Sellsword companies or the like, are usually given a limit of 2,000 men at a very maximum, and less is probably more appropriate.

Justin's got it about right -- feel free to be a warband leader or some other influential wildling short of a King. The lands north of the Wall are so sparsely populated that I think one man having 2,000 warriors behind him would be a bit of a stretch, but a few hundred would be fine. And the Free Folk being what they are, a man who carves out a name for himself could certainly gain more followers over time.

Agreed Crow. I was just saying to the best of my knowledge no non-lord has ever been given more than that.

To anyone who is qualified to answer-- how does my character sheet look?

Looks good to me, other than having know idea what a "fortifications" skill might be.

I intended it as a skill for building improvised forts, etc.

Well, it all looks pretty good, although there are a few things. First, just seems a little odd that someone would be dragged down a trail and get his ass kicked and later worship the dude that did it. Maybe something a little less severe, to make it sound a little more realistic. Other than that you may want to look over your skills, I think wilderness survival is a given for a wilding, although perhaps not. Maybe add a drinking skill in there somewhere, or maybe tracking since he hunts animals and Night's Watchmen? All around good character sheet, I'm just a pretty picky guy ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Obviously there's more to that tale than the few sentences I wrote.

It sounded like he became one of his best warlords out of respect for him, not like he did it out of fear.

Also I don't know how much the skill.
Wilderness Survival would be used.

Also I don't know how much the skill. Wilderness Survival would be used. I planned to use it as a defensive skill. Wildlings have a distinctive advantage in their home territory, and if it isn't given automatically, I thought I'd try and get it admin-approved as a skill. If it's automatically given to my character then I'd be happy to take a new skill.

I doubt you'll get any kind of distinct advantage for it.

Not as many as I'd like, I'm sure.
