Situated a little inshore from the Purple Harbour, this ornate building is the home allocated to the present Westerosi Ambassador to Braavos. Inside it is airy and spacious, with high ceilings and large rooms throughout - a perfect location for entertaining guests.
It is guarded at all times by two pikemen standing stoically underneath the arches, at either side of the front door

The barge pulled up alongside the manse's small dock. As the driver pulled the boat in tight, the Marbrands looked up at their new abode. Lord and Lady Marbrand bore sunny expressions. Their daughter however, was less than impressed.
"It's not very big is it?" she grumbled.
"Well you better get used to it," her father replied sternly. "You'll be living here for the foreseeable future whether you like it or not." He pulled his wife a little tighter in against his shoulder as her eyes ran over the carved balconies above.
They were shown in through the front door, Lord Dudley stopping to ask the names of the two guards currently posted, sharing a brief joke with them. The family belongings had already been moved in prior to their arrival so they immediately felt at home.
Having satisfied himself that everything was as it should be with regards to his home and family life, Lord Dudley's thoughts turned to business.

Lord Marbrand came to the door to greet his visitor himself. He was all smiles.
"Ser Lyn! Come, come, we have much to discuss, follow me up to my study." The man beckoned the two diplomats to follow him up the wide staircase. He led them left at the top and into a corridor with several doors coming off it. He hesitated for a moment in the hallway before choosing the second door on the right. "You will forgive me sers, but this house is still very new to me as I assume you already know."
The room looked fresh and new, not-at-all lived in. Dudley took a seat behind a huge oak desk and beckoned for his two guests to be seated also.
"I had been hoping you would come to see me today. Tell me ser," he said, addressing Lyn, "how long is it now since you left for Braavos from King's Landing?"

"A couple of weeks." said Lyn, but then Denyo got in the middle of his sentence "I am no Ser."
"Now, now, behave yourself Denyo." he turned back to Dudley "This here is Denyo Volentin, of the house Volentin of Braavos. He helped me make sure that I get access to all my cousin's riches and networks. My cousin is, you see, Lady Antaryon."

"A pleasure to meet you Denyo," Dudley said with head bowed respectfully.
"You... know Lady Antaryon then?" he asked of the Braavosi.

"I do, my lord." Denyo said, still angry because Lyn humiliated him in public
"You shouldn't worry about the lady Antaryon, it is safe to say I control her, my lord." Lyn grinned.

There is a slight knock at the door.

"You... control her?" Dudley asked, slightly puzzled. He was about to ask further questions when the knock came, taking him somewhat by surprise.
"Er... enter?" he called.

A courier entered carrying an enormous bouquet of flowers. "Delivery for Ser Lyn Payne." The Courier grins lavishly. "milady says thank you for a very pleasant evening, and she looks forward to seeing you soon." He placed the flowers on the table. "There is also a card." The courier produces the card, steps back and bows.

Dudley looked slightly baffled by this man's intrusion. Had he been more settled here, he might have felt a little offended that a meeting like this should be interrupted in this fashion.
Outwardly, he smiled amiably, allowing Lyn to take charge of the situation.

Lyn smiled though he wanted to know what his cousin was up to. "Ah, pass my thanks to the lady." He took the card and started reading
OOC: Lady Antaryon is my third =)

"I presume this is from the Lady Antaryon? Your cousin?" Seeing affirmation in Lyn's face, Dudley continued.
"Tell me more about her, and about your relationship with her." He put his elbows on the desk and pressed his palms together under his chin in a way that said I'm listening.

"Well, there isn't really much to tell, except that she will help us anyway she can. We didn't see each other a lot in life, but we seem to like each other a bit." He smiled. There was no hint of deception on his face.

"Excellent," Dudley said nodding, although there was the slightest hint of disappointment in his voice. "It is good to have high-placed contacts."
"And so I can get a better idea of how we are starting our diplomatic service here, tell me who else you know of in Braavos. Have you, perchance, met the sealord?"
