A majestic keep intricately carved into a mountain overlooking the west coast, Casterly Rock is, has been, and will always be the home of House Lannister.

Casting eyes on the Rock once more, Steffen is once more reminded of how impressive it is. It makes him swell with pride to think of himself as a part of it's long history, and as a Lannister.
As he and his small entourage, mostly bearing the arms of House Marbrand, draw closer, the intense level of activity in and around the keep becomes apparent. Five thousand men were stationed here, ready to defend the man who had named himself King of the Westerlands. Cedric. Steffen tasted the name in his mouth, lips curling with a hint of distaste. The whole affair thoroughly confused him - old enemities came up to rise against future ambition, although both were heavily clouded with age.
Riding up to the gate, Steffen caught a glimpse of House Sarsfield's banner. It made him smile, and wander whatever actually became of Walter whom he had not seen all these years. Snapping back to the task in hand though, he sought about finding Cedric.

"Grandfather!"
A young knight, aged about 18 with long blonde shoulder length hair and the deep blue eyes of the Lannisters detached himself from a group of knights, lounging near the gate.
"I saw Ashemark's colours. What brings you to Casterly Rock?"
Lyonel quickly scanned his grandfather's party, his blue eyes darting around, clearly looking for someone.
"Where are Monterys and Dudley?"

The old man's face cracked into a smile.
"Hello Lyonel," he said warmly. "I've come to pay my respects to our King." He nodded up towards the the towers at the top of Casterly Rock.
"Your brother and Dudley are... not here. They are still in King's Landing last I heard."

Ser Clive Lannister found Steffen and grunted at him, and then turned. Quietly he led Steffen all the way back to Cedric's chambers.

A lone rider is seen approaching the gates. His livery marks him as clearly comming from Kayce. He reigns in his horse just before the gates and pronounces clearly to the guards, "I have come at the behest of my Lord, Harold of Kayce. I request to see the King so that I may offer him my Lord's fealty."

"Not the best place for Westerlanders to be at this time." Clive Lannister approached Steffen and grunted something unintelligible. Lyonel fell into step beside his grandfather. "Let me accompany you grandfather. I'm off-duty now. You can tell me of the goings-on at Ashemark while we walk."

As Steffen and his grandson are following Clive, Steffen hears the man of house Kenning announcing himself to the guards.
"Ser," Steffen calls in his direction, "We are headed to see the king now, come with us. And inform us how Lord Harold is whilst you're at it. I haven't seen him for years."
Whilst waiting for the messenger to follow them, Steffen turns once more to Lyonel. "Ashemark is similar to how it was when last you were there," he said simply. "We have a new kennel master, after Ollick said some... unpleasant things about my wife," he scowled at the thought, leaving that particular conversation point there.

The messenger bows his head forwards for the "proper" length of time before joining the group on their way to see the King. At the request to talk about Lord Kenning he is more than happy to (One's riding horse does not make for good chatting company).
"Well, after the unfortunate death of his father, the present Lord Kenning is quite a capable ruler. His marriage to Lady Marion Farman is proving quite well for the both of them; They have two young and very handsome children. Other than that, m'lords, I apologize beforehand, for last I heard, the Lord Kenning was preparing to ride on Casterly Rock soon. I shall inform him that the esteemed Lord Marbrand is here as well."
It seemed as is he had finally figured out the answer to a hard question, and had quickly shut up; Not wanting to say something that may get him in trouble later.

Cedric Lannister stood in his office, and played with a golden crown. His lip folded into his mouth, and he stared at a map of the realm.

Lord Martyn Lefford, as dull as he is reliable and as plain as he is dangerous, asks to speak to his brother in law.

Clearing his throat, the messenger steps forward, and bows his head in due respect. "Your Highness, I come at the behest of the Lord of Kayce, Harold Kenning. I am authorized by his Lordship to swear fealty,of all those loyal to Kayce and to House Kenning , to King Cedric the First of House Lannister. My Lord is also upon his way to Casterly Rock, along with a force of soldiers to place at your disposal."
Finishing, the young man steps back and out of the chamber, allowing the others to speak with the King of the Westerlands.

Martyn Lefford does not speak until he is expected to. "Your Majesty... I present Lord Harold Kenning of Kayce with another oath for Your Grace."
He moves to the side and finds a seat.
