Horn Hill is named for the rolling hills that encompass the lands of House Tarly. The imposing keep sits on the northeastern edge of the Far Reach, only a few leagues from the border with the Mander, the Stormlands, and Dorne.

Lord Robb Tarly cut an imposing figure even in his old age, he held himself upright in the hard wood chair as son entered.
"Sam, How are you?"

Lord Cyrus Varner arrives at Horn Hill at the head of his black-garbed Weasels. They take up positions as they have so many times in the past, knowing the land around Horn Hill almost as well as their own. Cyrus sought out Lord Robb and his son.

"Lord Varner, welcome," Ser Samuel said, upon finding the Lord of Stoatsheart, "although I sometimes think you only come to Horn Hill for our walls and soldiers," he added with a wink.

Cyrus smiled, "I brought my own soldiers as well Ser Samuel, as well Hightower, and Costayne, and Florent and Irwyn troops as well. You can't say I skimp on that account, when I come to visit. And your castle has such a lovely view." he gestured towards the Mander river which separated them from the "other" Reach.

"That is certainly true, my lord, I cannot deny you on that account. I heard about your exploits on the high seas, recently, it sounded like you and Loren left me out of some fun."

"I'm sorry about that Samuel, but it could not be helped I'm afraid. It was a thing of short notice. Still best to get bloodied early and get it out of the way."

"I suppose you're right," Samuel said, still smiling. "Do you think Lord Oakheart will truly be foolish enough to cross the Mander and engage us here? I don't think he can possibly intend to pass Highgarden, where we could crush him against the river," he said, changing the subject, but then added, "have you heard anything from our allies in the Stormlands?"

"They've lost Storm's End because they didn't have it garrisoned with loyal men. And Dondarrion's son was riding with the King when the news was delivered. More fool him. We knew it would be a fight in the Stormlands from day one, so its no surprise."

"Do you think it wise to march to their aid? Nightsong is nearby, and Blackhaven is only a little further. We cannot leave our backs open to the Mandermen, though, should they decide to join on Rodrick's side, however, but it will come to battle eventually and we will need to beat Rodrick in battle to have any chance of surviving," Samuel replied.

"Until we know the disposition of the Mander I'd like to see our defense strong. But we can raise forces for fighting in the Stormlands. I can speak to Justin on the subject."

Samuel nodded. "In that case, since waiting is the name of the game, would you care to head down to the training yard for a stretch? I haven't used my sword in a few days, and I might as well get in all the practice possible," he added.

"Aye Ser Samuel, it would be irresponsible of me to decline."

////// From the East the Red and Green colors and the Oak tree Banners alert the defenders of Horn Hill that Loren Irwyn and the men of Uplands have arrived.
And the Blue and Gold Banners and the Fox in Field indicated that House Florent was also present.
The Armies make camp and the Lords Loren and Dorian make their way to the keep.
