Lord Cyrus Varner calls all the Lords and Generals to meet with and discuss the battle plan.
"My lords, welcome. I've been instructed to pass on to you a greeting from Lord Hightower, and to present his love to you for your faith and loyalty in this time. We have two main objectives. First, to hold the Far Reach against invasion. For that task, Lord Hightower has assigned Lord Robb Tarley and myself, along with fifteen thousand men. We had hoped we could spare some of those men for other duties, but with the fall of Lord Craych in battle against Oakheart, the future of the Mander's alliance with us is uncertain. On the other hand, we must send aid to the Stormlands, which is most certain to be Rodrick's first point of attack. he has the most allies there, and he may seek an early knock out blow against Lord Dondarrion which will win more men to his cause. As such Lord Dondarrion must be supported. Lord Justin has tasked this duty to Ser Derick Cuy and Lord Loren Irwyn and assigned you ten thousand men for the task. He instructs me to urge you to take no undo risks, and to make battle at a time and place of your choicing. The goal is to blunt Rodrick's advance in the Stormlands, and prevent him a military victory there. That does not mean you need to hold every keep, Lord Justin also asks me to say that he trusts your expertise Ser Derick, and also yours Lord Irwyn, so do as you think fit to accomplish these objectives."

Loren nods his head, "have we any word from the Lord Dondarrion? It would be a tragedy if our hosts met each other unexpectedly and did battle in the dark. Also what do we know of the Dornish? Rodrick will attack from the North but we cannot leave out flank unguarded if there be snakes in the brush."

"None of the Dornish lords save Fowler have the balls to leave the passes to strike at us as we march, and he will not act alone, I think. So long as Nightsong and Summerhall are securely held, the Dornish cannot truly threaten us," Samuel said.

"I agree. If you feel the need to garrison these castles, you may dispatch some men to that purpose. Lord Hightower has spoken of their importance to Lord Dondarrion repeatedly. But I think it will be crucial to have a strong force to meet Rodrick wherever we may decide to give battle."

"Do we know which lords in the Stormlands are behind us? While I am all for supporting those loyal to our cause, history has shown they have little concern for losses, when pressing whether they have advantage or not. I'll go into the Lion's den but I want a good idea of what I should expect before stepping into the dark," Loren's arm shaked a little, he knew he wasn't supposed to be afraid but he was.
"Ser Samuel makes an excellent point as well, if its a defensive war we be after holding Nightsong and Summerhall would be a fine addition to the forces at Horn Hill."

"Taking Summerhall will be difficult, it is a Baratheon holding and you have Storm's End close enoug to make a siege risky. and As far as I know Lord Dondarrion did not secure it ahead of time. However, Blackhaven comes before Summerhall on the Boneway, so the passes to Dorne should still be closed. We know that the Carons of Nightsong are with Dondarrion, as well as the Conningtons of Griffin's Roose. I would say Nightsong, Blackhaven and Griffin's Roost are the crucial keeps. I leave it to your discretion Lord Irwyn. Pick positions which you think we can hold and make a strong stand. Do not risk your force in battles you are uncertain on. We can not afford the perception of major losses at this stage."

"With Craych Tyrell captured by his bannerman, the forces of the Mander cannot be counted as true allies I think. I do not think we can rely on Lord Rowan, who holds command of the men at Highgarden, unless he attacks Oakheart to rescue his liege. I think, however, we should divide the armies a little more differently than you suggested. Leave ten thousand men here under my father and yourself, Cyrus. The Mander do not yet have enough men in the field to threaten a force that size, and the five thousand extra men will be sorely needed in the stormlands. Assuming we leave as many as two thousand men at Nightsong and Blackhaven each, we will be left with eleven thousand to augment Lord Dondarrion's men when we meet the King's followers in battle in the Stormlands.
If the Mandermen mobilize and turn south against us, ten thousand men is enough to hold them long enough for either more men to be raised or our fleet could even take the Shields and sail up the Mander to Highgarden itself, trapping their attackers between two of our armies," Samuel continued, rubbing his temples slightly. He looked slighly unkempt, and it was obvious that he had not slept recently.

Cyrus mulled Samuel's proposal seriously. "Ser Samuel this is an interesting proposal. I intend to keep the navy in place to bring men wherever we need them most once the battle begins. If you think we can hold Horn Hill with ten thousand, than I'm prepared to go along. You know this castle better than anyone."

"If you are a loyal man of your Lord Craych Tyrell you are welcome. Come with us." The cavalry escort the man to meet with Lords Varner, Irwyn, Florent, and Ser Tarly representing his father.
"Do you have a name good ser?" asks Lord Cyrus.

"My name is Damin Tyrell no Ser. You are Lord Varner I think." Damin looks at the weasel on the lords surcoat.

"You are correct Damin. What brings you here on this day? We hope your lord Craych is still in good health?"

"Do not worry about Lord Craych it will be settled soon. I have come to ask why there is an army placed on the boarder of the Far Reach and Mander. We are both Reachmen it is not right that it could lead to war between us."
