Aerys Velaryon comes to see Daario. He holds a piece of parchment, which he gives to Daario.
"As you can see, a rebellion has broken out against Rodrick Baratheon. The Iron Islands are involved and Rodrick's own Hand Breck Dondarrion."
His lip curled in derision, as he said the last name.
"We have had no reply from Kings Landing as to sending our ambassadorial party. My ship is ready to sail for Kings Landing, as soon as we receive assent. I fear it may not come now.
He thought for a moment.
"This may prove to be an opportunity for Lys. I hear the Iron Islands have a foothold in the Stepstones. I propose we act for King Rodrick and remove the foothold and replace it with our own."

Daario looked at the note thoughtfully, "We can not. The Braavosi fleet would strike at us immediately if we made such a grab... with out their permission."

Aerys looked somewhat dismayed.
"Until recently, the Stepstones belonged to Lys, at least since the Three Kings War.
"Even if we don't make a grab for the area of the Stepstones where the Ironborn are, assisting King Rodrick by removing the rebel Ironborn cannot be against Lys' interests. Braavos cannot object. They are allied to Rodrick's House.
"I have no liking for the Baratheons, but I do believe it is in our interests in the long term keeping Rodrick on the throne for the moment. He will bumble his way to another rebellion sooner or later.
He paused and said knowingly.
"And if it happens when your elder 'children' are grown, that may be their time."
There was a short silence between the two men. Then Aerys asked.
"Will I sail for Kings Landing anyway, giving Rodrick assurances of our support and friendship?"

Daario nodded, "You are right of course. But stop at Braavos and tell them of our intention to aid King Rodrick."

Aerys bowed.
"Very well my Prince. I shall leave for Kings Landing at once to meet with King Rodrick. I shall send you word from Braavos when I have informed them of our intentions.
"I shall take three ships. May I request the company of my cousin Viserys, Aelinor's brother? The brother of the Princess of Lys may have more clout with Rodrick."

Daario nodded, "That is wise. Take him."

Aerys went to leave and then a further thought struck him. He turned back.
Just one further question, my Prince. After I inform Braavos that Lys will root out the Ironborn in support of the King of Westeros, what do you intend doing? It would be useful if I could inform King Rodrick about exactly what will happen.

"I will gather some men, and wait for them to leave to attack Westeros, and then spring when they are weak." Daario shook his head, "But do not tell them that, tell them I am preparing, and will strike as soon as I can."

Aerys gave a short bow.
"Very well my Prince. I shall do as you command."
Aerys exits Daario's solar and makes preparations for his immediate departure, boarding and sailing within a couple of hours.

Upon their belated return to Lys, Viserys Velaryon (Ambassador Velari) reports to his sister's husband Prince Daario.
He is accompanied by his cousin Aerys Velaryon and Tyrio Querini.

Viserys moves across and greets his sister with a chaste kiss on her cheek, complimenting her on her landscape. Aerys follows kissing his cousin's hand as does Tyrio Querini.
Viserys turns towards his goodbrother Daario.
"As you can see my lord we have returned, even if somewhat belatedly, with much interesting news of Westeros and its' king. For us the news is generally good. Our nephew Monterys..." he nodded towards Aelinor. ".... is restored to Driftmark, the Baratheon king is widely hated and I believe revolt in Westeros still simmers beneath the surface."
He paused.
"These are favorable conditions for the childrens' prospects. In a few years, the situation in Westeros may be ripe for Aegon to establish his claim."

"That is not the situation as I see it from this side of the Sea." He replied.

Viserys raised an eyebrow.
"I can only report what I noted in Kings Landing Lord Prince. The nobles have for the moment accepted Rodrick, but I sense their decision to do so, is a reluctant homage. Certainly many dislike him, and some hate him and his methods. He will only make himself more disliked and hated the longer he reigns. An alternative candidate may find themselves with perhaps more support in Westeros than many would suppose."
