After a short while Master Flea entered the conference room as well.
"What says your Lord?" he asked, without introduction.

"My Lord says that if we act, we must act in conjunction, and be assured of our victory. Defeat is not an option."

Flea waved his hand away as if this was irrelevant. "What of the Vale? If they are not with us, we have no cause. One cannot be more religious than the High Septon, if the Vale does not rise, we none can rise."

"My Lord Dondarrion has informed Royce of his father's involvement. He is assured that the Vale will stand with us. Not only this, but he imagines that our greatest concerns are outside the realm rather than within."

"Speak the common tongue plainly Master Briar, We've already spoken far worse things. If you are certain that the Vale will rise, I will contact the Islands and let you know their answer."

"My Lord Hand drew it as an implication from his conversation with Lord Royce. Furthermore, he insists that the Royces are just as firmly against this sort of tyrannical rule as we are. After all it was Lord Royce's father who was the victim of King Rodrick's cruelty. He does wish to know who we seek to set upon the throne however, either one of Rodrick's children, or his brother the Horned Wolf?"

"I do not believe the Horned Wolf would serve even if we asked him to. And anyway, setting aside Rodrick's children would be illegal, and it would alienate the Royces of Duskendale. Better we let the line of succession remain in place. No one is alienated, everything remains as before, except that justice is served. We hold a Grand Council to elect a regent for the child until he is of age. No lord risks losing anything. It will encourage them not to risk battle on Rodrick's behalf."

Briar nodded. "I can say with confidence that my Lord Hand will approve of this."

"Very well. Would you permit us to draft the initial statement? It should strike the right tone to avoid raising unnecessary alarm among the Lords of the Realm."

"Lord Dondarrion says that Pieter Tully has accepted our cause as well."
