"You must excuse my ignorance my Lord Hand. I didn't realise that Lord Stafford had chambers here in the Red Keep.
"I shall ask where they may be found."
Monterys gave a short bow once again, turned on his heel and strode out of the Hand's chambers. On his way out he stopped to ask a servant where he could find Lord Stafford.

"Bear in mind what happened to the last Lord Lefford to speak too loudly before you continue," Yancey says dryly. "And then if you are still interested, tell me what makes you qualified to be the Master of Coin for His Grace."

"I apologize for my grandfather's mad charge, I was astonished when I heard of it. When it comes to the position, well. I had to learn how to handle money because I was born a Lannister. Two of my five lessons a week were about economy. Then, I was named lord Lefford and again I needed to know how to count coins. When I arrived to King's Landing, I bought a few establishments to have a steady source of income in the capital and I realized that I could use my money and my skill with it to help our king and the kingdom."

"The King needs a man who will be loyal to him," Yancey says, "Not Tyberion Lannister. Tell me, Lefford, what would you do if your brother rose up like your father did?"

"I would have to go against him. My father was a traitor to the kingdom and I was too childish to see that. I have realized that later and I also realize that Tyberion would never be as foolish as he was." Baldwin shook his head to put away the memories of his father

Yancey lets loose a bark of laughter. "Well you're certainly ambitious."
He looks at the Westerner again, appraising him. "I'll think about it. You can leave now."
