Durran Caron calls the Small Council together to convene over the recent reports of Dornish unrest. "Fellows of the Small Council", he says, "we must act to address the growing concern in Dorne. How can we best suppress the pro-Martell rebels?"

King Rickon blushed a very dark magenta, "I think that is wise Lord Caron. What would you advise?"
Coldiron coughed into his hands, "are the pro-Martell fighters still considered rebels?" He grinned.

Benfry glowered "When they raise arms against their rightful lords, what else can they be. An example needs to be set. I recommend a levy of 3,000 men to be sent to Lemonwood led by Ser Aemon Webber of the Kingsguard. He is an able general and his white cloak speaks of the King's authority in this matter. Should the rebels lay down arms peaceably then we can maybe discuss new arrangements but this bloody revolt brings unwelcome images of previous conflicts to the fore and must be suppressed lest it start a wildfire of similar protest"

Alexander Irwyn says nothing immediately quietly remembering the promise of Lord Fowler on the fields of Hellholt. "It just goes to show. . . that it is true no good deed goes left unpunished. Despite the travesty perhaps it was the Smith's intention [OOC: The Smith of the Seven] that we learn this lesson," Alexander says solemnly.

"Very Well. Lord Benfry, Lord Alexander, make it so."

"What has Lord Qorgyle requested?" Alexander says coldly, "He is Dorne's Lord Paramount and should be expected to handle the situation. If he needs more men then so be it we will send them but this is first and foremost a rebellion against his lands so he should be expected to deal with it. If he is unable or unwilling to do so then lets intercede but, the King's man in the region should have an opportunity to deal with the problem before we have others intercede."

"Lord Qorgyle has written for instructions." Rickon says, holding up a missive looking unimpressed. "he hints that he does not trust his own men to not be sympathetic to the rebels."

"Well the newly installed Lords should be trustworthy and the others that bent are likely to have their men follow. The small folk will go the way of their Lord as that is the only way that they can be left alone,"
"I suggest we tell him to raise the Lords and Ladies that he trusts and that the crown can send three thousand men if he needs more but he has a free hand to punish the rebels as he sees fit as they rebel against his House first and foremost."

Rickon looked at Lord Benfry, "Do you think that makes sense?"

Tallahar walks into the council. He bows to the King, "I am Your Grace I was busy with Queen Jeyne's Hospice. So we are talking about the Dornish problem. The Dornish are snakes it would be easier to kill them all then try to tame them."

King Rickon cleared his throat, "Lord Tallahar, I seem to recall hearing something about how you had changed... in your interview with myself and Lord Benfry?"

"Oh of course I have changed. Before I would be killing them myself. Now I would send someone else to do it." Tallahar smiles at the young King to show he is joking, "But to be serious a show of force must be made. I would be willing to do it if you wish Your Grace."

"Before you arrived, Lord Regent Benfry had recommend sending 3,000 men led by Ser Aemon to link up with Lord Qorgyle and bring the Dornish to heel. Do you disagree with that plan Lord Tallahar?"

"That is a fine plan Your Grace. But I was merely suggesting myself as I am part of your Small Council so it might have a larger effect." Tallahar doesn't mention the fact that he is the Dawn Raider.

"I am cautious against using men who fought in the previous Dornish campaign. Even good men, like yourself, Lord Tallahar. Lord Irwyn, do you think the Dornish would respond to Lord Tallahar, like they would to yourself? That is to say... negatively?" Rickon looked pointed between the two men.
