Tristeza stared towards him biterly, "This morning I was an honest woman with a chance for a legacy, and the oppourtunity to leave my son the life the Gods meant for him. You have single-handedly stolen my only son, made me a liar, and stolen from me the only good work I had ever hoped to do. I am resigned to die, Lord Delinal, but I had hoped my death would serve a purpose. Clearly you would prefer I die a wretch, and leave my children beggars at your mercy--would you prefer I cut my own throat, or would poison fit me better?" she spat, her face convulsing as she felt herself becoming ill.

"Charming," she said, poison in her voice "But I'm afraid I have a previous engagement," and with that, she stalked towards the palace.

The Sea Lord stared at her back. "Stay." He leaned forward, his hand covering his mouth.

Tristeza whipped around, struck by his courteousness, though it did not assuage her anger, "Bring my son back," she proposed as a condition.

The Sea Lord stared at her, "I will not. I would rather he was dead then you." His lip raised, then he quickly added, "I am not having him killed. Do not worry about that."

The Sea Lord stood and face her, looking her in the eye. "I will give your boy back to you immediately then, if you swear to stop trying to die."

"You know I cannot make that promise--my life is all I have left of worth--it is the only thing that will buy back House Martell's station, and the respect of its colleagues and underlings. Surely respect is a necesesity you understand. You know as well as I that this is a move I am obligated on every logical level to make."
