"Indeed." she said, gazing intently at him, her eyes narrow, but blank. She looked downwards and held her face in her hands for a moment, as she heaved a great sigh. After a s short while, she looked up at him, a look of exhaustion evident in her features. "Will you walk me upstairs?"

Horas nods silently, then rises to his feet and offers Tristeza his arm. "Of course."

At the door of the small cabin, Tristeza stopped, and reached upward to place a small, gentle kiss upon his cheek, considering him with a worried look, "I will never hurt you, if I may in any way avoid it, and I will regret immensely, with every thread of my being, on those occasions when it can not be helped, that which I must do, that will inadvertently cause you pain, or dishonor. I hope so fervently that you...both believe and understand that--and I am very, very sorry...I do care for you very much; I hope you know that, and that I have not fallen so far out of your favor that I will not be able to earn it back in time."

A strange expression passes fleetingly over Lord Blackwood's face, but when he speaks again he is just as abrupt. "I see. Farewell, Tristeza. Perhaps our next meeting will be under happier circumstances."

Horas leans in and kisses Tristeza on the lips. After a moment he pulls away, then looks into her eyes. His own face is unreadable.
Then he turns and escorts her up the stairs onto the deck of the ship without saying anything more.
