///////////////////////////////// Ser Grant disembarked from his ship, the Rending Talon and rode the short distance from the port up to the castle. His brother had sailed north with Lord Dondarrion, for King's Landing, but Ser Grant had decided to see his home first, and he had business in the Stormlands besides that.
He stayed in Griffin's Roost for a few days, and then rode south with a small entourage, towards the Rainwood.

He leads the men into the castle, and down to the crypts beneath it where the dead Conningtons had been buried for centuries.

Ser Grant meets them in the first courtyard inside the gates, trailed by several stewards and servants. The Hand's party's horses are taken to the castle's stables and Ser Grant bowed respectfully to Ser Roland when the two drew even. "Welcome, my lord Hand. I must apologize for the atmosphere of the castle, but we've had to bury two loved ones in the last half year and it's weighed heavily on us all. I trust your journey was uneventful?"

Roland smiled though sadly. "It grieved me so to receive news of your loss, Ser. These have been rough times in the Seven Kingdoms, and it would seem we've all been exposed to grief and sorrow. And yes, the journey-- since Dorne anyway-- has been peaceful. Thank you."

"Thank you, my lord," Ser Grant said, before looking down at the boy standing at the Hand's side. "Is this Toland's son then?"

Roland nodded. "It is, ser. He seems a decent boy, nearing the age to squire,"

ooc: how old is he, exactly? Do you know?
Ser Grant looked at the boy thoughtfully. His skin was the tanned brown that marked him immediately as a Dornishman from the coast; his father's castle was Ghost Hill that had been sacked by the Ironborn during the war. "I have recently taken a cousin of Lord Dondarrion to squire, a boy of thirteen, but no law says I cannot have more than one squire." He turned to the boy, and dropped to one knee so that they were at eye-level.
"What is your name, boy?" he asked softly.
