Marten, Maurin, this announcement totally changes our position. Hendry Dustin was talking in chat, about his chances of beating Horas. The Vale, under the Royces & Tytos Blackwood are basically allied with the Far Reach under Alexander Irwin. They have the King's word on their side and Hendry (who is Tytos) was saying that they are pretty much evenly matched if fighting against the Mander, Storm & Riverlands, and I think he's about right in terms of numbers and skilled leaders. However, f the West joins against Horas, we will easily turn the tide. Tytos Blackwood, who would likely become regent & Lord Commander in Horas' place would not interfere with us fighting the Ironborn, and he would not attempt to charge us for our actions during the melee (which he doesn't believe).
Should we change our position, and support him over Horas, or should we stay out of htat conflict all together and fight the Ironborn? Our army can't really leave the west without first removing the knife from our back that is the Ironborn fleet. If we can get Stark to help Lewys attack Bear Island, while we attack the Iron Islands, we could beat them.

This indeed is a delimma. If we join against Horas, we will have to fight the Riverlands, I suppose, who are 30,000 strong. We could seal it all if the north army hastened back from the wall to come south on our side, but alas, Roose is on vacation for spring break ;D.
Something interesting... Bear Island is not the most important of things to conquer. If we do have to fight the riverlands, and you march to meet them with our troops (I think it said our max was 50,000- but its hard to get your max, so lets assume 45,000, and take out some more cause some are with my army-- so lets say, 38,000) we will outnumber them by 8,000. If I come back south with 6500 men, 5200 which are knights, I could smash them in the rear (not meant in a gay way- haha).
Now, I know Im getting way ahead of everything, I was just throwing that out there. ;D
Also, Jaymes, the actual "announcement" itself wasn't worded as good as Hendry had claimed he had put it- giving Horas the option of stepping down, etc. to put him in a near impossible spot.
It may work to our advantage to stay out of the conflict, but hurry and deal with the iron islands, to free us up to join the fighting on either side if it is to our advantage (hopefully not Horas, I hope he loses)

I know, in the chatroom Hendry gave a much different impression about how it was going to be worded. There's no way Horas can accept this, because it basically means admitting he's a criminal. Whoever wrote it is fucking stupid lol, all they can hope to do is shake the loyalties of the other realms, but the River, Storm, and Mander won't abandon Horas, and we're busy with the Ironborn. How many ships does Bear Island have under its control, probably not that many since Coldiron is away with his own ship and a few more... ask the Smith, maybe you would be able to get enough troops across with only your 5 ships, it's not a far distance and if they only have a few ships you could make it to take the sland before Erik gets back

Thats what I thought, Smith didn't give me a number, but he told me flat out that I just couldn't execute the attack based on the fleet at Bear Island. If Smith OK's the White Harbor explanation, its been 4 months game time, shouldn't they be drawing near? I know it's a continent, but 4 months is a long time.

Well, it looks like we will have a little more time to decide what to do. Irwyn will be gone until at least Sunday, and I wouldnt think theres a way a war could start without the Far Reach doing something, unless the Vale issues forth an army.

4 game months is a fair amount of time to make that journey

I would say we should focus on Ironborn and see how the rest of realm reacts.

Then that is what Lewys wiil do. When Smith OK's the White Harbor ships and I'm hoping he will, and the ships arrive, Bear Island will fall under attack.

It seems Willem`s plan is not working- he may lend me his 10 000 swordsmen to attack Iron Islands.

That would be extra helpful. We need to put good men with them, though, since they are sellswords.

It seems Willem`s plan is not working- he may lend me his 10 000 swordsmen to attack Iron Islands. We need sails more than we do swords. Maybe we should try to hire some selsails out of Braavos, to augment our fleet? The Ironborn fleet outnumbers us more than 4 to 1, and an extra 10,000 men won't mean shit if they all drown before getting to the Iron Isands. I have an NPC in Braavos already, I can just have him walk up to the Sealord's Palace with a chestful of Lannister gold and come back with like 40-50 galleys... that would be sick

Damn. I didn't realize our navy was that fucked. We should have made an alliance with Arerya before he sailed off to hell.
