"I feel you may have no choice, i grew up beyiond the wall further than this, all will fight if attacked women and children. Only the very young that cannot wield sword nor bow wont fight. It will be kill or be killed. You are correct though, they are unprepared although they may have discoverd the guards i ambushed, i collected all arrows afterwards so they wont know its us"

"We should waste no time, then."- Marten speaks eagerly as his fellow Knights gather behind him.
"We should charge at them in 2 groups, they won`t be able to stand to us. I doubt they are used to facing real Knights."

"I suggest we lay an Ambush for them My Lords. If they are indeed unprepared for and attack the element of surprise from prepared positions will give us a great advantage."

Roose suddenly hopped off his horse. "I have an idea." He started drawing in the snow. "I want Teffaron and Qhorin to come across the clearing, no one else. When the wildlings see the black brothers, draw them back through that gully we passed through earlier. They may be used to seeing Night's Watch rangers, but they won't be used to northern steel and Lannister horse."

"The gully is only about five minutes back. And as you said the wildlings aren't expect a fight. Just go to the edge of the clearing, let them see you, then get out of there."

Hendry laughed. "So the boy isn't so uneducated in war after all. You have some real talent in you, boy." He said smiling.

Roose shrugged. "A simple ambush, I've experienced before, on both sides of the attack."

Teffaron and Qhorin walk up to the clearing, Teffaron strings his bow and fires an arrow into one of the horses rear. Some wildlings look round and arrows come flying in the air all around them, "time we got out of here dont ya think" said qhorin, Teffaron agreed and they ran just as the wildlings were mounting their horses.

Lewys sat tense and rigid in the saddle with one hand gripping the hilt of his sword. He eyed young Lord Stark up ahead, anxious to find out how the boy would perform under pressure.

Qhorin rode hard, "Come on lad," he whispered to his horse. "You can do it." The unshaven ranger looked strangely serene, and as he heard the wildlings closing in he took his bow from his saddle bag. As smooth as silk he notched and arrow, drew the string. Twisting in his saddle he let go of the reigns and fired into the chest of a nearby wildling.
From the right side of the sloping valley Roose watched the two Night's Watch rangers gallop into it. The moonlight shone brightly through the trees of the Haunted Forest, and to each side Roose could see his men, gripping lances, swords, and axes.

Roose looked down at his side, and saw a pare of golden eyes look up at him, studying him. Roose looked back up. "Cry Winterfell and Death! Let slip the wolfs of winter and war!" Blizzard took off down the hill, and with a roar the men charged.
