Beyond the Wall

Hendry looked over at Ulfor. "Almost the entire north of the wall is forest. It makes no matter whether they go straight forward through the forest, or around through the forest."

Ulfor nodded. "Whateve you say m'lord."

Hendry laughed. "Don't submit that easily, Ulfor. If you don't have the stones to tell me I'm wrong to my face, you might as well leave." Hendry said sincerely.

"I may be a Lord, but I value the opinions of everybody. You can't always win a battle with your original strategy."

"Ulfor don't complain to masters, do ya Ulfor?" Feld leared to his companion. "They take that with your nuts?"

OOC: I thought we were on a pathway. Which is why I had Ulfor say something. If we're not than it doesn't matter the horses will be as effective no matter where they're placed.

"Teffaron, What where these wildlings doing when you saw them. Where they stricking camp or marching out, or where there camp fire light to show they stop to camp for the night." Asked Linus to the young Wilding.

Roose looked to Hendry. "Dustin, go take some men and check it out."

"ill go, alone" Teffaron commanded, everyone looked at him in surprise that he would command the lord as to what he would do. " i am much quicker and quieter than any man in this forset now and will be able to report back quickly without distubing them"

Feld shrugged. "Let the fool get murdered. Then send in Hendry."

Hendry nodded. "Okay, go Teffaron. Go and see what they are doing, and look for an ambush too. Then come back and tell us, assuming you don't get killed."

Roose nodded, "Let it be so." He watched as Teffaron started leaving. "But ranger, I'm open to suggestions. I weigh and measure them. But never command me again."

Teffaron slipped quietly into the trees, in half a minute he was awy from the main group. He sent his hawk into the air to search ahead. About 1 league in he heard some muffled sounds, he climbed a tree and unhooked and strung his bow. Mannok came back to him and told him there was 2 guards 50 yards ahead. Teffaron strung 2 arrows onto his bow, crept up on the guards and fired. The arrows wen straight through both their necks. Teffaron came back to Roose Stark "Mi lord, there is around 150 give or take three, 20 are mounted and half are women and children, they have a few patrols i killed 10. The men are armed with bows spears and clubs. Worse news though they seem to have thirteen wolves with them im shocked they havnt yet smelt us. Thats all i have to report."

Teffaron, after walking away came back and said "i forgot mi lord there is no ambush that i saw." forgive me.

"Is there space to manuever the horses?"

[teffaron]

"If you mean to attack then yes their in a clearing, if you mean to go round it may be difficult there is a deep river to their right and to the left a steep cliff."
"i feel you may have no choice but to attack"

Hendry nodded. "They sound fairly unprepared. With women and children there, we will have to be careful. Me and my men are no baby killers."
