"We've heard no news from Westeros - things take quite a while to come over the sea. I assume King Callen is enjoying his peace. As for the Magisters, I will consider how to broach the subject with them. I have friends among them."
Elane peered at the gemstone. "The brick tower is a common sight in Pentos - much more so than in other cities, which seem to prefer wood or stone or marble. Did Sabastian Greyjoy bring that to Pyke?"

Upon seeing the gemstone, Erik smiles, and picks it up to examine it. "This should do nicely. Excellent, Grimon! Well, we have a token." He sets it on the table and slides it across to Elane. "Should you present it, or shall I?"

Maester Grimon shook his head "No, milady Buckler. That has sat in our vaults for many, many years. We *ahem* have a few more like it as well. The proceeds of a long-forgotten raid no doubt" he smiled

"Well, good. At least the Iron Price was paid. It's bad luck to give a gift that you didn't win fairly."

Elane smiled. "Indeed. Many have tried to win gifts from us fairly, not least the Dothraki and the sellsails. But this might work. Meet me tomorrow, and my friends will be here, and we shall go to the Palace."

"Many thanks. I'll be here." Erik tells her. He makes small talk for the rest of the meal and leaves with those he came with, returning to the ship to check on things.

Maester Grimon sneaks the pentoshi eating instrument into one of his sleeves with a deft move and bows to Lady Buckler before leaving

Elane does not appear to notice anything, and bids her guests good night graciously. Her bravos bring out Erik's bodyguards, who have been very well fed and look a bit sleepy.

A short time later Maester Grimon came back to the House and managed to rouse a sleepy-looking guard. He informed them to please pass a message to the Lady of the House that, due to unforseen circumstances, Captain Pyke would be heading back to Westeros. He apologised for the late hour and walked back to the docks, muttering about his old bones and how Captain Pyke had no respect for his age or position and treated him like a messenger boy. He grumbled and groused to himself all the way back

Elane heard the news that Callen Baratheon was dead. She looked a bit resigned, but not surprised.
